The New York Landmarks Conservancy Tells Whom You Know: Vote For Your Favorite New York City Bridge
Bridges are some of the most beautiful and complex works of architecture and engineering.
They’ve inspired poets, send our spirits soaring, and are often some of our most beloved landmarks. New York possesses some of the world’s most impressive bridges, linking the City’s five boroughs into a singular metropolis. As we’ve grown, our bridges provide a portrait of different eras of engineering and design.
In the month of August, the Landmarks Conservancy will be examining these colossal structures that span the East and Harlem Rivers, such as the Brooklyn and Queensboro Bridges. Additionally, we’ll explore the histories of smaller, lesser-known bridges built for pedestrian usage like the Wards Island Bridge and Central Park’s Bow Bridge.
Note from the Editor: Not to sway your vote, but this guy was very nice to us when we met him and also during the interview process. Peachy voted for his bridge:
