Andrew Jacobson Nominated for Major League Soccer Goal of the Week for Week 26
New York City FC midfielder Andrew Jacobson has been nominated for Major League Soccer Goal of the Week for Week 26, the league announced.
Following deft control by Patrick Mullins, Jacobson unleashed a rocket from 25 yards out that found the back of the net in the 29th minute of the Club's 2-1 loss to Columbus Crew SC on August 29 at Yankee Stadium. It was the sixth goal of Jacobson's career and his first for New York City FC.
Also nominated for the MLS Week 26 accolade are Kevin Doyle (Colorado Rapids), Diego Fagundez (New England Revolution), Patrick Nyarko (Chicago Fire) and Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls).
Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday.
