Brought to the USA by David Milligan Selections, Domaine Houchart St. Victoire Rose is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know! Crisp, Elegant and Celebratory it Brings French Summer Into Your Fall!

St Victoire Rose

Grenache - Cinsault – Syrah - Cab

It's Thursday in New York-but you can take a trip to France with Movers and Shakers Alex and David Milligan when you bring a bit of French summer to your glass: The new "Sainte Victoire" appellation lies to the east of Aix-en-Provence, at the foot of the Sainte Victoire mountain. The appellation was recently created to acknowledge the exceptional quality of wines from this part of the Côtes de Provence Region. David Milligan Selections continues to impress us in their bespoke, hand-picked choice wines from France that wow us much more than many restaurant choices.  Restaurants: you should contact Alex to embellish your wine selection!  It would be difficult for anyone to know more about wine since birth than Alex Milligan...

The wine is a light pink color with fruity, strawberry, white peach and almond aromas and great minerality taste that comes from the "terroir".   Its clean complexity is ravishing on your palate and though you may not be able to see the world through rose colored glasses in terms of vision, you certainly can with this wine and your olfactory senses.
Serve as an aperitif, with sushi, salads and pizzas, all fish and seafoods, white meat or savory tarts.

Domaine Houchart is located at the foot of Mount St Victoire near Aix en Provence. This region is part of the new, higher level, appellation" Cotes de Provence, St Victoire". Domaine Houchart is today owned by Geneviève, the wife of Jérôme Quiot, having been originally acquired by her great-grandfather. During the period of the 1850's, Aurelien Houchart was an energetic proprietor and negociant in wine, and created one of the largest domains in Provence. Amongst the friends of Aurelien Houchart was the famous painter Cezanne, who frequently came to visit. The 200 acre estate is planted with 10 traditional grape varieties on soils of red clay, sandstone, gravel and chalk and produces 60% Rose, 35 % Red and 5% White wines

David Milligan Selections

My father is a Francophile.
He has loved French wines since he started drinking them some 40 years ago.
In 1995 he left the corporate wine world with one goal. To bring the wines that he loved to you, the consumer. He selected estates from across France, that produced high quality wines at an affordable price. ( Maybe his Scottish ancestry! )
When I joined the company in 2006 the wine market had evolved. While I am also a Francophile, there is a great deal more diversity in the market now and I have found a love for many regions of the world.
Our producers practice sustainable agriculture in the vineyard and the highest standard of winemaking in the winery, in order to perfectly present the individuality of each vineyard site.
It is because of this shared vision and our "Direct from the Producer" system of distribution, that we are able to represent some of the best values in each category.
I hope that we can help you discover more about what could be your new favorite wine.
-Alex Milligan
David Milligan founded David Milligan Selections in 1995 with the objective of finding great wines from top estates and creating exceptional values for the consumer.

This has been achieved by creating a low overhead operation selling directly on behalf of the estates to importing wholesalers around the country and thus eliminating the National Importer mark up. Drawing on his many years of experience in the United States and in Europe where he was wine buyer for one of the largest wine companies, he has assembled a range of important estates in the main regions of France. In selecting these wines he agrees with the consumer preference for clean, well made wines with emphasis on the natural fruit. He believes that this allows the true character of the soil in each region to express itself. Experts agree that his selections are classic expressions of each appellation. In 2006 he was joined by his son Alexander who spent two years working at Sherry-Lehmann, the prestigious New York retailer.
