As the weather cools down, what can be better than tantalizing Italian comfort food?  There are so many great places to choose from in that discipline in Manhattan, and one venue we keep returning to that you should know about is Da Tommaso, which we have covered since 2012.
They were last featured a year ago:
This visit, we began with the Bresaola a Modo Mio under Antipasti.
A burst of a carnivore's delight on your palate, the fine sliced air-dried Special Beef with lemon and Virgin Olive Oil will leave you enraptured in its brilliant decadence.
It is absolutely delicious!
Their green salad boasts an artisan quality to it as it is ideally chopped and so convenient to eat with a fork flawlessly with no mess.  Uberfresh, this bevy of nutrition will be a lovely follow-up to your appetizer, and they did put the dressing on the side as we asked.  Red onion, egg, both green and black olives, lettuce, mozzarella and tomato teamed up to form a symphony of goodness that you'll enjoy.
If you are going to a show, note that Da Tommaso is nearby and very good about getting people to the start promptly.  Our friend owner Paul Da Tommaso told us the latest and greatest here is that he's building a private party room for 15-30 people.  Even the bread is just what you're looking for at Da Tommaso.
Worth every extra mile on the elliptical is the Fettuccine Della Mamma!  Da Tommaso is one of our favorite places for the pasta course across the board.  It is a vast understatement to call this delicious.  We were fabulously impressed by the quality of the sauce and the fettuccine danced in this prosciutto, peas, mushrooms and cream sauce with panache.
Not to be outdone is the King of the Hill in this review, the Sogliola Al Limone.  To the naked eye you see Filet of Sole in Lemon and White Wine but to your palate in person you absolutely revel in the splendid simplicity of the lemon accents celebrating this poisson just right.  They generously give you two filets, and the broccoli and potato were amazing companions also.
Would we like dessert?  It would be difficult to say no to the decadent Tiramisu and you'll never hear us say no to quality Irish coffee!  Paul earns bonus points for having Ed Sheeran music on in the background at the perfect volume...
Da Tomasso continues to be high on our list!
