The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, formerly the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, today announced that Ginni Rometty, chairman, president and CEO of IBM will deliver a keynote address at CES® 2016. Owned and produced by CTA, CES will run from January 6-9, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. Rometty's keynote is scheduled for4:30 PM Wednesday, January 6, in The Venetian's Palazzo Ballroom.

"IBM continues to innovate at the intersection of technology and business, with a history of unlocking not just new products and services, but new eras ," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. "Today, with Watson, they are changing the way we think. These cognitive systems will understand, reason and learn from the world's new natural resource: data. Ginni has such an entrepreneurial spirit - we welcome her insight to the CES keynote stage, where she will present her vision for the future of business and technology."

Ginni Rometty began her IBM career in 1981 in Detroit, MI. Before being named chairman in 2012, she held a series of senior leadership positions at IBM, including Senior Vice President of Global Business Services, where she led the successful integration of PricewaterhouseCooopers Consulting, the largest acquisition in professional services history. As CEO, Rometty is spearheading IBM's transformation and leading the company in innovations such as Watson and cloud, that will usher in the new era of cognitive business.

Rometty is a graduate of Northwestern University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in computer science and electrical engineering. She has been named toFortune magazine's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business" for 10 consecutive years. She currently serves on the Council on Foreign Relations, the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University, and the Board of Overseers and Board of Managers of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
