Bonhams restaurant’s Michelin starred chef, Tom Kemble, has won a coveted Bright award at the inaugural Mayfair Times Magazine Community Awards.
The awards, which recognise the contribution of people and organisations to the life of the area, were presented by Richard E. Grant at a ceremony held at the Dorchester Hotel.
Tom’s accolade coincides with the announcement that Bonhams restaurant, which was given a Michelin star within nine months of opening, will now serve dinner in addition to lunch. From February 1, the restaurant will open in the evenings on Wednesday and Thursday and from 1 March on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7.00 onwards. The £60 five-course set menu designed by Kemble is complemented by an optional flight of wines selected by sommelier, Charlotte Edgecombe. A full wine list is also available.
Bonhams is the only auction house in the world with its own Michelin starred restaurant. The constantly changing seasonal menu allows Head Chef, Tom Kemble to work closely with producers. His elegant, naturally plated dishes, which use a blend of French technique with carefully sourced produce, won the restaurant its first Michelin star within nine months of opening. A special feature of Bonhams Restaurant is the chance to sample some of the world's great wines by the glass at affordable prices selected by Richard Harvey, Master of Wine and Head of Bonhams Wine department. Two high-tech Enomatic dispensing machines will ensure that the wines stay in excellent condition.
