Patrick Vieira Receives Football Writers’ Association Tribute Award
New York City FC head coach Patrick Vieira was honored at the Savoy Hotel in London on Jan. 24, when he received the tribute award by the Football Writers’ Association.
Vieira spent 10 season with Arsenal and two seasons with Manchester City. The former midfielder was proud to win the award.
“This is where everything started for me. This is the country where I played my best game. This is where I really enjoyed living and playing football. To receive the honor tonight, its something that makes me proud. I feel privileged about it.”
New York City FC midfielder Frank Lampard was honored by the Football Writers’ Association with the tribute award in 2010.
