PLAYMOBIL®, one of the top global toy manufacturers, today announced an expansion to its NHL® product line as part of the company’s continued partnership with the National Hockey League. The initial line of 16 PLAYMOBIL NHL® toys was introduced last year and marked the first time in PLAYMOBIL’s 41-year history that the company had struck a deal for a licensed line of products in the U.S. and Canada.

As part of the expanded line, playsets inspired by 12 more NHL teams – Calgary Flames®, Edmonton Oilers®, Los Angeles Kings®, Minnesota Wild®, New Jersey Devils®, New York Islanders®, Ottawa Senators®, Philadelphia Flyers®, Pittsburgh Penguins®, Vancouver Canucks®, Washington Capitals® and Winnipeg JetsTM – including both player and goalie figures will hit stores this spring. Additional sets featuring NHL rivalry packs, Stanley Cup® Presentation, Score Clock with Referees and an NHL holiday Advent Calendar will be available this fall. The initial line of NHL-inspired playsets included figures from the Original SixTM franchise teams, a fully-functional NHL Hockey Arena, a Zamboni® ice resurfacing machine, NHL referees and the coveted Stanley Cup® Trophy.

“Due to popular demand from consumers and retailers alike, we are thrilled to expand our offerings of NHL toys,” said Mark Cohen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PLAYMOBIL USA. “Young fans were clamoring to play with their favorite NHL teams and now with the introduction of additional franchises and iconic NHL moments, they can continue to express their fandom and create their own authentic NHL-inspired experiences with PLAYMOBIL.”

“As we expected, the PLAYMOBIL Original Six product line was a hit among hockey’s youngest fans,” said Dave McCarthy, NHL Vice President of Consumer Products Licensing. “With the expansion of the PLAYMOBIL NHL collection, fans can recreate their favorite hockey moments with their favorite team.”

Each toy within the extensive NHL line has interactive and functional features that allow young hockey fans and their families to create their own unique NHL experiences and encourage them to explore the depths of their imaginations, a key pillar of PLAYMOBIL’s mission.

A leading toy manufacturer for over 40 years, PLAYMOBIL continues to create toys loved and respected by parents and children alike.
