We were so pleased to meet Edward Tricomi in 2009 when we began Whom You Know and we published an interview on him. Even more thrilling is having Edward personally cut your hair, and for the past year, our hair has never looked better, testament to the fine talents of Edward and his business partner, Master Colorist Joel Warren. A new year calls for a new look, and there is a fun limit to how blond one can go; brunettes have even more fun. We recently returned to Warren Tricomi at The Plaza for a new visit with Joel Warren, Master Colorist, and Edward Tricomi, Master Stylist.
For color, we wanted to return to our natural hue for winter. Peachy's goal was to have the same color that you see her having as a child (of course, with no red hair or red warmth is the ultimate goal always), but with a few strategically placed blond highlights which Joel is indeed the master of. A combination of creativity and science originated by Joel Warren culminated in a bespoke color for Peachy's highlight to go against her base color: all L'Oreal Professional. Inoa 5N (roots) and 5.3 (on the ends) were the single process; there is no number for the highlight. It works by lightening your hair on your own tone. The roots will naturally get warmer than your natural base color so they need to be addressed differently in color application. The color was pulled through to achieve the proper natural color and Maddie did a great job assisting Joel. Sadly, it is too cold out to share any good Joel Warren golf stories however he is practicing inside to ensure more hole in ones in the future!
Edward Tricomi not only has immeasurable talent in his vision and execution of your hairstyle but also is one of the most sincerely personable individuals to chat with. And he has stories! It had been three months since Peachy's last trim, and the current shape customized by Edward frames Peachy's face perfectly, with appropriate cascading layers emerging from Tricomi's signature dry cut. If this is the first time you're reading us, you should know that hair is blown out first, and then cut by Edward. Joseph Anthony did fantastic work in blowing out Peachy's hair. Edward tells us his 2016 is going great so far; if you know him, you know he is incredibly musically inclined. He just got a 1961 Les Paul guitar that he's been enjoying...watch out Grammy's!

Joel Warren is one of the world’s most recognized colorists, but he started out as an aspiring chef. Inspired by his girlfriend, a beautician, Joel decided to try his hand at beauty school. Legendary Warren-Tricomi Salons co-founder Edward Tricomi is known for demanding excellence in everything he does. Be it hair, fashion, or music – when Tricomi is involved, perfection isn’t just expected: it’s inevitable.The roots (no pun intended) of his renowned career began after a suggestion from his sister that he try cutting hair to supplement his income as a musician.
