FYI’s original series “He Shed She Shed” celebrates the trend of turning backyard sheds into functional and creative outdoor living spaces. Six one-hour episodes premiere on Saturday, April 2 at 10pm ET/PT.

People across America are cleverly transforming outdoor sheds into supplemental living areas. From pub-sheds used as man caves and shed-quarters serving as alternative work spaces, to the latest trend of she-sheds designed as female-based sanctuaries – sheds are the latest small space craze. What used to be just a humble garden outbuilding is now fast becoming a way for owners to express creativity and to fill a practical space missing from their traditional home.

Each episode of “He Shed She Shed” follows two homeowners, friends or neighbors in the ultimate male vs. female backyard shed showdown – as they build and design a unique he-shed and she-shed. The series also shows off existing sheds across the country and meets with the owners to learn about their inspiration in creating the unique outdoor space.

In the April 2nd series premiere, two party-loving homeowners turn their sheds into backyard bars. In California, a pirate-obsessed guy turns his shed into a pirate pub, complete with a mast, sails and secret bar. Meanwhile in Austin, Texas, a mega-party hostess creates a tiki bar she-shed that’s built for entertaining her huge group of friends.

Other tricked out sheds featured this season include a rodeo-themed, Old West he-shed that brings the ranch feel indoors; two chic “shed and breakfasts” that the homeowners plan to rent out; a he-shed in Massachusetts for a hockey-fanatic, complete with a backyard ice rink; a futuristic sci-fi themed shed in Houston, and more.

“He Shed She Shed” is produced by Loud TV and Plum Pictures for FYI. Executive producers for Loud TV are Nick Rigg, David George and Jordana Hachman. Executive producer for Plum Pictures is Stuart Cabb. Executive producers for FYI are Gena McCarthy and Toby Faulkner.
