Three more days!
Our friend Paul Farrell, King of Kings' Carriage House, gives every New Yorker, and tourists too, a million great reasons to be proud of being Irish through your tastebuds every day.
However, you know what is around the corner and who's shouting it from the rooftops so we're reminding you.
"Here at Kings' Carriage House, we continue to proudly celebrate our Celtic heritage through cuisine and authentic Irish dishes inspired by my Dublin childhood.
Slainte!"
-Paul Farrell, King of Kings' Carriage House
Aside from the obvious fact that we like Irish people, what we like about Paul Farrell is that he is obsessed with detail just like us and everything he serves is the freshest.  Of the hundreds of Manhattan restaurants we have considered, we can count two that change their menu every day, and this is one of them (the other one is Monument Lane by Josh Frum.)  We began with the triumphant Tartare of Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon, sourced from Slavin and Sons.  Don't hate it because it's beautiful.
The super fresh salmon rests upon a Yukon Gold Potato Cake of perfection and is further embellished by Horseradish Creame Fraiche and Caviar.  It is one of the most incredible culinary endeavors we've consumed this season.
Though that appetizer was a tough act to follow, the Grilled Prime Filet Mignon showed no signs of intimidation.  Paul has worked with the same butcher for 35 years: Mr. Silvin, who is 97 years old.  Every bite of this tender filet is juicy and succulent, and the Barolo Demi-Glace will have your stomach applauding as well.
No one does potatoes like the Irish and you'd better believe that the Horseradish Creamed Potatoes are a winner.  They insisted on a closeup.
The Almond Pear Tart with Sweetened Creme Fraiche is the perfect touch at the end.
Nowhere is as quaint and charming as Kings' Carriage House!

Though you think you are in the rolling green hills of Ireland, when you look outside and see the yellow cab, you remember where you are. Kings' Carriage House is the perfect escape from Manhattan without actually leaving it!

Kings' Carriage House continues to be Highly Recommended!
We believe even the Dowager Countess would be impressed; not every day has to "involve a fight with an American" when you are working with a Dubliner!
