The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ announced that CES® 2015 earned the number one spot on the 2015 Trade Show News Network (TSNN) Top 250 Trade Show List. Determined by show management and data supplied to TSNN, the list represents the top 250 trade shows held last year in the U.S. ranked by net square footage. For nearly 50 years, CES - owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association - has been the launch pad for next-generation innovations changing the world. CES 2015 was held January 6-9, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"It is always an honor to be recognized by TSNN. To earn the number one spot on this prestigious list is incredible," said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy. "This honor reflects the vibrancy and excitement of the global consumer technology industry. While we are extremely proud of CES' status as the world's largest global technology tradeshow, we remain committed to providing our attendees with the highest quality show experience. As we look forward to the 50th Anniversary of CES in 2017, we will continue to explore ways to showcase innovation and attract the best minds in the industry while ensuring a positive experience for all our attendees."
In addition to a tradeshow floor spanning 2.23 million net square feet, CES 2015 featured global brands and budding startups who unveiled innovation that will improve lives, connect the world and address major global issues. Leaders from a broad array of industries united at the show to survey and interact with each other. 2015 marked the successful introduction of C Space, the CES hub for leaders in the advertising, marketing and digital content communities. CES 2015 also cemented its position as a truly global event with 48,833 international attendees from 153 countries.
CES 2016 ran January 6-9 in Las Vegas, welcoming more than 170,000 industry professionals and 3,887 exhibiting companies across the most expansive show floor in the 49-year history of CES - more than 2.47 million net square feet. CTA will release final CES 2016 attendance figures in the coming weeks.
CES 2017 will return to Las Vegas Thursday, January 5-Sunday, January 8 and is expected to span 2.4 million net square feet of exhibit space, with more than 3,800 exhibiting companies showcasing innovation across 20 product categories. CTA anticipates more than 160,000 industry professionals from 150 countries will attend CES 2017. They will witness more than 20,000 product launches across top trend categories such as vehicle technology, gaming and virtual reality, unmanned systems, fitness and sports, health and biotech, 3D printing, robotics and more. Additionally, more than 300 conference sessions and more than 1,000 speakers are planned for CES 2017, encouraging dynamic discussions surrounding the latest in emerging trends and technologies.
Tradeshows provide a platform for face-to-face business interactions to take place in one location. CES saves executives from traveling an estimated 3.5 million miles on business trips because of the efficiency in meetings the event offers. Each attendee has an average of 33 meetings during CES.
