Once upon a time before Whom You Know existed, Peachy Deegan did things other than meet great people and their terrific brands and write about it...and her late grandmother, whom you see pictured in the right column, was quite good at making braided rugs. Sadly, she passed and did not teach this to Peachy, however, Aunt Bette did! Aunt Bette was Martha Stewart before there was Martha Stewart and was one of the first women in the US Navy; there was nothing she could not do. Once Peachy made a braided rug under her instruction, but when Peachy made it, it was not stitched this well...it was somewhat close though.
