Your initial reaction to LAMB could jar you; however, we would encourage you to watch with an open mind and heart to see what will transpire in this highly original drama based on the book.  Human experiences like death, difficult families, interaction with strangers and isolation combine with characters of intrigue to deliver a film that will make you think.

Ross Partridge, who plays the protagonist David Lamb, and is also the director, is going to show up as creepy and strange on the radar of anyone with common sense in his reaction to the amazing character played by Oona Laurence, whom we expect to continue to see great work from.  Her age does not define her talent at all and she seems wise beyond her years, as does her character, Tommie.

A uncharacteristic 11-year-old, Tommie learns values of self-worth through her complex interactions with David, otherwise known as Gary.  Lamb becomes a quasi-uncle to Tommie and shows her life meaning and attention that her family doesn't.  These two characters peel back the layers of life to return to a simplicity of nature and quality of conversation and experiences that cannot be found every day.  Laden with guilt, Lamb confronts his inner demons in tandem with mentoring Tommie.

There is an eerie sense of calm when you realize Lamb's intentions behind his actions are true and good, and the storyline is the most unique we've seen in a long time.  The jarring intimacy will draw you in and leave you curiouser and curiouser.

The acting by these two characters and their chemistry is simply fabulous and they constantly have the audience wondering what direction the plot will take.  The situation is so ridiculous, it works.  Both deliver completely convincing performances in this deep film.

Lamb is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.

Two lost souls form an unlikely bond in the provocative drama LAMB, available on DVD April 19, 2016, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Written and directed by Ross Partridge from Secret in Their Eyes and based on the award-winning novel by Bonnie Nadzam, this emotionally-charged film stars Partridge as David Lamb, a man struggling with the disintegration of his marriage and death of his father. David finds an unexpected connection with an awkward and unpopular 11-year-old girl named Tommie, played by Oona Laurence (Southpaw). Co-starring Jess Weixler (TV’s “The Good Wife”), Joel Murray (TV’s “Mad Men”) and Scoot McNairy (Argo), this critically acclaimed film, released by The Orchard theatrically, digitally, and on demand earlier this year, was an Official Selection at the 2015 South by Southwest Film Festival and winner of the 2015 Woodstock Film Festival Ultra Indie Award for Best Film. It debuts on DVD and digital with bonus features that include feature commentary with Ross Partridge and Oona Laurence, deleted scenes, Lamb: Landscapes Video and a photo gallery.

Synopsis: Based on the novel by Bonnie Nadzam, LAMB traces the self-discovery of David Lamb (Partridge) in the weeks following the disintegration of his marriage and the death of his father. Hoping to regain some faith in his own goodness, he turns his attention to Tommie (Laurence), an awkward and unpopular 11-year-old girl. Lamb is convinced that he can help her avoid a destiny of apathy and emptiness, and takes Tommie for a road trip from Chicago to the Rockies, planning to initiate her into the beauty of the mountain wilderness. These two lost and lonely individuals set out on a journey that will change them in unexpected ways.

LAMB was produced by Mel Eslyn (The One I Love, Your Sister's Sister) and Taylor Williams (Brave New Jersey, Death Valley). Executive producers are Ross Partridge and William Ruch. Co-producer is Jennifer Lafleur.

It has a run time of approximately 97 minutes and is rated R for some disturbing behavior, sexuality and language.
