It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we are so happy to know our friends Giuliano Zuliani and Samuel Morocho, host and executive chef respectively and owners of Primola.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE the American flag and more people should have flags up like they do.
It definitely makes the food taste even better.
Every American business owner should embrace patriotism like they do and P.S. we hope EVERYONE listened to our friend Mover and Shaker Rita Cosby last night!
She is doing the best job with election coverage.
Primola is a bastion of old-world excellence and the classic high-end Italian cuisine is absolutely phenomenal, and super consistent as well. Focaccia is made fresh on premises every day and it is delicious.
Primola was last featured in the summer of 2015:
Peachy first picked Primola in 2012:
and we returned in early 2015 as well:
Every detail at Primola is perfect down to the bread basket. Note we do not always take pictures of it...
At Primola, they do know Peachy so they know she loves a strong rich Italian red. It's impossible to have a bad glass of wine at Primola. Giuliano we really missed you this visit, however, it was fabulous to meet the highly professional Dominic.
An antipasti that is deserving of your full attention is the Insalata Ortolana.
Baby string beans with mixed peppers and mushrooms are a refreshing, bright beginning to a sensational dinner. We like their acute attention to detail in making sure everything is bite-sized, and this precedent continued perfectly into the Insalata Speciale Primola which was chopped just right:
Lettuce, red pepper, mushrooms, asparagus, and tomato form a symphony of splendor and nutrition and Primola was careful to put the dressing on the side for the picky one here.
A triumphant Imported Branzino arrives at Primola daily and we understand is delivered three times a week at Hunts Point from overseas. A generous portion, freshness is ensured at Primola and it was grilled with olive oil, parsley and lemon. We reveled in its simplicity done so well and the sliced potatoes that came to the party de poisson were also lovely.
You'll be thrilled with this entree.
It is always terrific to have a bit of turf to go with your surf and at Primola, the Bistecca Fiorentina reigns supreme over the meat selection. You absolutely need to revel in its succulence. We never edit pictures; it does look this perfect.
It's highlighted by a fantastic blend of garlic and rosemary that make it most competitive with any steakhouse in Manhattan. Spinach and tomatoes added nice color to the plate.
Fedelini Primavera is a highly healthy selection under the pasta choices, and look at the thoughtful and beautiful presentation which was not lost on us. The sauce is fresh vegetables with a light tomato joined by a circle of broccoli, mushrooms, peas and cherry tomato and just enough pasta to get your carb fix in, ensuring that your favorite cocktail dress will still fit tomorrow, even with desserts.
Does Peachy like dessert!?!? Silly question. If you've been reading you see she likes an awful lot when it comes to culinary pursuits. There are five fresh dessert choices at Primola daily.
Whether you opt for the amazing chocolate mousse cake, above, or the napoleon with raspberry sorbet, below, you cannot go wrong with the dessert selection at Primola. Both were excellent and we love how they did not make Peachy eat cheesecake.
Peachy Picks Primola!
Primola continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
