The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™ is proud to announce that Glenda MacMullin, COO and CFO, CTA, has been named a 2016 Washington Brava Award winner. The Brava Awards program celebrates high-impact female business leaders who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community, and are exemplary leaders of both their companies and communities. "Glenda's vision and strategic skills have helped establish CTA as a forward-thinking and example-setting association. Since she joined our association, she has expanded her role to manage our information technology, legal, human resources, membership and office administration departments, and has led a myriad of projects, from establishing the CTA Foundation to negotiating the purchase of CTA's Innovation House," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association. "I congratulate Glenda on this well-deserved honor. She is a true inspiration and leader to us, our community and the consumer technology industry."
MacMullin joined CTA in 2004 as the CFO and over the last 12 years has led the charge on increasing revenue and membership for the association. Now serving a dual-role with CTA as COO and CFO, MacMullin is involved in all aspects of the association, from providing strategic financial leadership to developing overall business strategy and translating business plans into department operational plans, programs, goals and policies. She also led CTA's effort in acquiring its present building, helped grow the association to more than 2,200 corporate members and assists with producing the largest event in North America if not the world, CES, the global stage for innovation.
Additionally, MacMullin has created a deeper partnership between CTA and the Northern Virginia Technology Council, expanding the U.S. Tech Vets program, which helps veterans tap into technology sector jobs. She also has helped expand CTA's engagement with several charitable organizations including Women Against Alzheimer's. In 2012, she helped launch the Consumer Technology Association Foundation, which provides grants for non-profits utilizing technology to improve the lives of seniors and people with disabilities. MacMullin is known for giving back to the community, while also mentoring and promoting women.
MacMullin will be honored at SmartCEO's Brava Awards held July 7, 2016, in McLean, VA.
