As you may have noticed, we have a significant following from the UK and Ireland which is no surprise, as guess who used to live there. And she's of Irish/English/Welsh ancestry, among other nationalities. Recently, we were introduced to Boodles.

Boodles Proper British Gin is a perfectly balanced London Dry Gin with a flavour and finish as balanced and refined as a silver service tray. Originally created by the fabled gin makers Seagrams in 1845, Boodles gained popularity in the  US in the 1960's for its proper British gin character. Under new ownership by Proximo Spirits since 2011, Boodles Gin now boasts a spiffy new bottle jacket and a “Keep Calm”-esque graphic identity.

MADE IN BRITAIN

Boodles is a proper British gin through and through in the production sense. It is made from English wheat, distilled in a rare Carter Head still in Cheshire, bottled in Essex and packaged in Scottish glass with labels made in Wales. The gin is made with true labour and patience.

QUINTESSENTIAL BRITISH FLAVOUR

Boodles Gin is neither showy nor cloying, as proper British gin should be and we like that. It noticeably doesn't contain any citrus botanicals, leading to an approachable and understated aromatic nose and taste.

Aroma: Fresh juniper notes 

Colour: Clear, with a slightly oily quality and strong legs. 

Flavour: Notes of rosemary, nutmeg and coriander are juxtaposed by a juniper undertone. It features
perfectly balanced herbal and spice notes with the traditional London dry juniper and cassia. Finish: Warm and clean, with a hint of nutmeg.

TO SERVE

Boodles Gin is best enjoyed with tonic and a twist. Deviation is tolerated but will often be met with a disapproving stare.

PROOF, PRICING AND AVAILABILITY Boodles Gin is bottled at 45.2% in the US only, 40% in the UK as well as every other country. Available nationwide in the US and UK, and in Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Spain, South Africa and Germany.

Even better! Boodles Proper British Gin introduces Boodles Mulberry, the first of its kind in America. Boodles Mulberry pays homage to the humble mulberry tree which has been a familiar sight in the English countryside for centuries. Inspired by the traditional sloe gin liqueur, Boodles Mulberry is a fresh interpretation of a British classic.

Delicate mulberries combined with notes of raspberries and currants to create a sweet and subtle medley. It’s the perfect complement to Boodles British Gin’s unique botanicals of rosemary, nutmeg and sage, creating the proper balance and complexity of flavour.
