Giles Scott will win the gold medal in the Finn Class with one race to spare at the Olympic Games in Rio.
The Briton has an unassailable 24 point lead after 10 qualifying races. There are 20 points available in the medal race, which will now be a formality for the Land Rover BAR sailor.
Scott is a four time world champion in the Finn Class, but this is his first Olympic medal.
He isn't the only Cup sailor competing in Rio however.
In the 49er class, Emirates Team New Zealand's Pete Burling and Blair Tuke hold a narrow two-point lead after six of 12 qualifying races.
Their rivals, Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen from Australia, are the defending gold medalists and sit in sixth place, just five points adrift of the podium.
Racing continues throughout the week in Rio. More updates are with World Sailing here.
