Since the closing of Mimi's Pizza on 84th and Lexington, which we are still in mourning for and solidly crying our eyes out since we miss it so much, we have now realized that Majestic Pizza and Calzones is now the pizza place in Manhattan we have visited for the longest: since Peachy Deegan moved to Manhattan.  We believe this is the only venue in cuisine at all that has earned a review that we have continued to work with through a change in ownership: its new owner is Phillipe Jean, whom we were delighted to meet on the last review:
The previous owner, Pasquale Ditillio is also a total peach and we can assure you that not everyone in this discipline understands social media well enough to know that it is probably a good thing for the venue to continue working with us even if the ownership changes: that's how much these two guys care about the success of this venue.  This time, we were delighted to work with Sabrina, a veteran of Majestic who also previously worked with Pasquale.
We began with the Majestic Salad which is styled quite nicely.
Underneath the red peppers and cheese you will discover grilled chicken and corn among the lettuce along with grilled chicken and avocado.  This culminates in a great combination!
There really are not too many places you can get a great calzone: however, you can get a fabulous calzone here!  We decided to go a non-traditional route with the Ham and Cheese.  This really hits the spot and note that this venue is right near the World Trade Center and the new Oculus and even after a couple of laps around the new mall we think we'd rather eat here.
You can't miss with the meatballs and penne, another comfort food you'll just adore!
It's a generous portion as well.
Meet The Parma Sandwich!
Thinly sliced prosciutto di parma, arugula, roasted peppers and balsamic vinegar announce to the world one more reason why Majestic is a pizza place of sophistication.  This sandwich is delicious, fresh and just as spectacular as you'd expect.
And, ta da!
The best part: the pizza.
You can be healthy and eat pizza: look at all of the divine vegetables this pizza holds and that quality alone spells a triumph: there are six vegetables we chose and the thin crust strongly held them all up to perfection.  Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, onions, garlic and mushrooms were absolutely brilliant on this pizza which we devoured with glee, pinkie-out of course.
You know you're going to be hungry shopping at Century 21 next door to this...

Of course, Majestic Pizza and Calzone is Terrific Takeout.
