NHL-LEADING CANADIENS IMPROVE TO 9-0-0 AT BELL CENTRE
Carey Price made 23 saves and Daniel Carr (GWG) scored his first goal of 2016-17 to help the Canadiens improve to 12-1-1 this season, including a perfect 9-0-0 record at Bell Centre.
* Elias notes that the Canadiens won 12 of their first 14 games to begin a season for the first time in their 99-year NHL history. Montreal also started a season with wins in each of their first nine home games for just the second time in franchise history (also 1953-54).
* Price improved to 9-0-0 this season and paces the NHL in wins (1.56 GAA, .953 SV%, 1 SO). Elias says he has established the longest season-opening win streak by a goaltender in franchise history, besting the mark by Charlie Hodge in 1960-61 (8-0-0).
GOALS IN BUNCHES LEAD TEAMS TO VICTORY
The Bruins, Ducks and Predators all used multiple goals in a short period of time to secure wins on Thursday:
* The Bruins scored five consecutive goals, including four in a span of 4:01 of the first period, to overcome an early deficit and improve to 5-2-0 in their last seven games. Tuukka Rask improved to 8-1-0 this season (1.76 GAA, .938 SV%, 2 SO). Per Elias, Rask is the fourth goaltender in franchise history to win eight of his first nine appearances to begin a season, joining Frank Brimsek (1938-39), Gerry Cheevers (1976-77) and Tim Thomas (2010-11).
* Jakob Silfverberg (2-2—4) matched a career high with four points, scoring a pair of goals – including the game-winner – in a 3:06 span of the second period, to help the Ducks extend their point streak to four games (3-0-1).
* James Neal (1-0—1) and Calle Jarnkrok (2-0—2) scored a pair of third period goals 1:06 apart to break a 1-1 tie and help the Predators win their second straight game and earn a point for the fifth consecutive contest (3-0-2).
GETZLAF, HEDMAN TOP FRANCHISE LISTS
Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf (0-1—1) and Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman (0-1—1) both reached the top of all-time franchise assist lists:
* Getzlaf registered the 532nd assist of his NHL career, all with the Ducks, to pass Teemu Selanne (531) for the most in franchise history.
* Hedman recorded his 188th career assist, all with the Lightning, to pass Dan Boyle(187) for the most by a defenseman in franchise history.
ICYMI: Selanne congratulated Getzlaf on the achievement but joked he should shoot the puck more in a video message on Twitter.

The Blues announced their roster for the 2017 NHL Winter Classic Alumni Game including Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull and Al MacInnis . . . The Canadiens and Kings, both former teams of the goaltender, honored Rogie Vachon prior to his induction to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday . . . Jets forward Mark Scheifele (0-1—1) leads the NHL with 9-10—19 this season (15 GP). Going back to March 1 of last season, Scheifele leads the NHL in scoring with 23-23—46 in 36 games . . . Wild forward Eric Staal (1-2—3) has registered 2-6—8 in his last seven games . . . The Sharks scored four unanswered goals to win their second consecutive game after dropping three straight (0-3-0) . . . The Red Wings won their second straight after dropping their previous five games (0-4-1) . . . Stars forward Jamie Benn (2-0—2) scored twice to help Dallas halt a three game skid (0-2-1) . . . Teams across the League honored the military prior to Veterans Day in the United States and Remembrance Day in Canada.

MAPLE LEAFS FACE FLYERS IN HOCKEY HALL OF FAME GAME
The annual Hockey Hall of Fame Game pits the Maple Leafs against the Flyers at Air Canada Centre and marks the first event of a weekend-long celebration in advance of Monday’s Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This year’s inductees include: Eric Lindros, Sergei Makarov, Rogie Vachon and the late Pat Quinn.
BLACKHAWKS LOOK TO EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO EIGHT GAMES
The Blackhawks (10-3-1, 21 points) look to stretch their winning streak to eight games when they host Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals (8-3-1, 17 points). The Blackhawks are led offensively by last season’s Art Ross Trophy winner Patrick Kane (5-12—17 in 14 GP) and Artem Anisimov (8-9—17 in 14 GP).
