Fast casual is quite a trend right now, and we noticed the Gansevoort Market expand and among the spots we visited is The Truffleist. This brand is owned by Jimmy Kunz, and there is a gourmet food line behind it we are unfamiliar with. We met Jimmy on one visit to this market, however, he was not present for his review.
If you are an avid connoisseur of delicious steak sandwiches, this is the creme de la creme of those. We believe this sandwich variety is popular in Philadelphia in general; we do not remember ever featuring a steak sandwich on Whom You Know prior to this post.
You cannot beat the original truffle cheesesteak, and to be honest we have not met too many edibles that were not enhanced by truffles. Straight truffles make everything better, black and white alike. Truffle oil may have been used here.
Jimmy also crafts a New York cheesesteak, and has a third variety that has gone all out and includes Truffle mustard and provolone, which we liked the best of the three. The bread is fresh and all ingredients employed will delight you with their sandwich enhancement.

You will want fries with that and both the truffle fries and the extra cheesy variety will impress your tastebuds. They are even better than you'd expect and highly addictive we surmise.
