To make a movie truly gorgeous, it must be directed by a fashion designer. Multi-talented director Tom Ford has executed a stunner of a movie in Nocturnal Animals, a gripping drama that will keep you intrigued constantly. Possessing the most acute deviations of taste levels, Ford tweaks with precision the style and visual of each and every scene that will be a pleasure for your eyes to absorb, whether the drama is positive or negative we've rarely seen a story emblazoned with this level of beauty and detail. Amy Adams says she's never had such a great wardrobe ever and you will be envious of what she wears! We were until the Donna Degnan Spring 2017 arrived (stay tuned!). Amy's makeup is amazing as well, particularly the combination of her eyes and lip color that emanate a perfect metallic accent. As with many aspects of life, the plot of this film centers on interpersonal relationships. Adams and Gyllenhaal possess undeniable chemistry and closeness and it will make your stomach churn when you see her with her second husband. In the highly volatile climate of today's era where you may encounter one who could erupt quite easily on a dime, you'll realize how much worse it could be in the middle of nowhere as opposed to busy Manhattan.
We won't give it away, but the plot evolution is well-crafted and surprised us constantly, a mark of a good movie. Ford is a master of juxtaposition. Painful, cutting, gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, Nocturnal Animals is most triumphant in beauty.
Just as great as the clothes is the scenery. The use of light and darkness is particularly convincing. The scenery employed would not be our place of preference, however, Ford sells it well and the gorgeous skyscapes of color make you feel as though you are walking through The Met instead of looking at your television.
