The Recording Academy® Statement re: Kurt Moll March 6, 2017
"
Kurt Moll was an opera rarity, known for the sonority of his true bass voice and lieder singing. The German native was a dedicated member of the Cologne Opera, and made international debuts in prestigious works such as Wagner's Parsifal, Beethoven's Fidelio, and Verdi's Rigoletto. In 1990, his contribution to James Levine's recording of Wagner's Das Rheingold brought him one of his three GRAMMY Awards®. Our deepest condolences go out to Kurt's friends, family, and creative collaborators."
