UBM Fashion has reenergized and expanded its NY Women’s May marketplace featuring six incredible shows that offer a unique opportunity for buyers to shop immediates across all categories from ready-to-wear apparel, to premium accessories and popularly-priced footwear. 

This May will bring the art and indie inspired west coast trade event POOLTRADESHOW to the largest accessories seasonal market touting several cornerstone shows including: Accessorie Circuit, Intermezzo Collections, Accessories the Show, Fame and MODA, opening May 7 – 9th at the Jacob Javits Center.

With immediacy being the new normal, the headlining May event, Intermezzo Collections, is more relevant than ever. Merge that with the buzz among fashion influencers surrounding heritage denim and coveted Vintage items as key trends and suddenly there is a clear need for an expanded denim and Vintage presence during the intermediate markets. 

BLUE@Intermezzo, the first ever platform dedicated to showcasing premium denim brands, will exhibit between the major women’s fashion markets. Designed and curated around an open floor and located at the entrance of Intermezzo Collections, BLUE is a movement fueled by the spirit of denim, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and community. 

“Retailers rely on Intermezzo Collections to circle back around after the larger shows and regional markets to sharpen their assortments, address of-the-moment trends and fill in their inventory to carry them through the rest of the season. BLUE@Intermezzo is the perfect opportunity for denim brands to distribute their replenishment inventory as well as pick up new business,” states Peter Berta, Director Accessorie Circuit/Intermezzo Collections.

Today's new consumers demand authenticity in their purchases and Vintage@Intermezzo delivers. Intermezzo Collections enlisted Bridgette Morphew of Morphew Concept to curate an eclectic mix of sought after Vintage apparel and accessories ranging from rare Victorian and Asian pieces, luxury vintage designer gowns and furs to sportswear, denim, and T-shirts. Participating exhibitors will be showcasing a highly curated selection from the biggest names in couture to easily obtained cult favorites. Visit this groundbreaking experience and discover the new definition of vintage with a focus on rare and unique product for the individualized consumers of today. Brands include: Morphew Concept, Dusty Rose, And Archive, Paradox, Quality Street and Normal Kamali’s archive collection.

From vintage Levis, to one of kind Japanese kimonos, to couture gowns and furs, VINTAGE@Intermezzo allows retailers to put their “thumbprint” back on their assortments and move away from the “homogenized” fashion of today’s mass market. POOLTRADESHOW, the top breeding ground for art-inspired and independent fashion brands will serve a carefully merchandised show and features everything from unique apparel and accessories to lifestyle, apothecary, home goods and stationary, introducing a unique selection to the east coast market. Exhibiting brands include YRN, JOYN, Wicked Heathens, and Blue Planet. 

“We couldn’t be more excited about offering the POOL experience in NY to brands that have not been able to make it to Vegas yet, or to brands looking for a unique and affordable show like ours on the east coast. As an added benefit to UBM brands and retailers, POOLTRADESHOW’s SWIMLESSONS will now serve as an educational forum for new and established brands across all UBM Fashion’s portfolio. The educational series presents influential and experienced leaders in the industry sharing knowledge and experiences on how emerging designers can establish themselves in the competitive market. 

The New York SWIMLESSONS event will be hosted on Thursday, May 4th from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the Tishman Auditorium at the New School, 63 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10003.

o Fame | Where retailers discover young contemporary, trend-driven and dynamic collections for women’s and juniors; introducing this May a curated point of purchase section of brands. 

o MODA | Showcasing a mix of accessible ready-to-wear focusing on Fall/Winter collections with a strong fur assortment. This May MODA will introduce eveningwear.
