#LenovoScholars TOP FIVE MOBILE APPS ANNOUNCED IN LENOVO NATIONAL COMPETITION
Lenovo and its nonprofit partner focused on high school education, NAF, today announced the top five winners from NAF academies participating in the third annual Lenovo Scholar Network National Mobile App Development Competition.
The competition and app development program encourages greater interest among underserved high school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) while providing them with the high-tech skills to succeed in the 21st century. In this competition, teams of students from 50 Lenovo Scholar Network academies across the U.S. spent months developing mobile apps that will be of service in their classrooms and communities. The results every year are incredible.

The winning teams will present their apps at NAF’s annual teacher’s development conference, NAF Next 2017, in Dallas July 9-12.
“Fan Favorite” voting opens today and will be open through July 10. The winning team will also receive state-of-the-art technology, courtesy of Lenovo. Visit the Lenovo Scholar Network site to view the top 5 and to vote.
NAF, Lenovo Extend Partnership
NAF and Lenovo also announced the expansion of the Lenovo Scholar Network, including a $1 million grant from Lenovo. The grant provides funding and Lenovo technology over the next three years for select NAF academies and opens the Lenovo Scholar Network program to all NAF academies across the United States, with the goal of advancing STEM education and opportunities to an additional 20,000 students.
Partnership benefits also include allowing students to earn NAFTrack Certification credit, part of Lenovo’s commitment as a NAFTrack Certified Hiring Partner, and expanding engagement opportunities with Lenovo, including Lenovo in the Classroom volunteer events. Nearly 4,000 students are estimated to participate in the Lenovo Scholar Network during the 2017-2018 school year.
