WHITE DOUBLES ITS FASHION SHOWS WITH CNMI POAN, THIS EDITION’S GUEST, AND WOOD WOOD TO HIT THE CATWALKS
WHITE has now two fashion shows in the calendar with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. This WHITE MAN & WOMAN edition, from 17th to 19th June, is all set to showcasePoan, Special Guest of the contemporary fashion show under the aegis of the Municipality Milan, as well as Wood Wood’s catwalk, Special Guest In January 2017. The latter is coming back to Milan Fashion Week thanks to the collaboration between the Tortona Fashion District trade-fair and REVOLVER, Copenhagen’s fashion trade show.
«POAN – so reveals Georg Weissacher, designer and founder of the brand - is deeply honoured to introduce in June in Milan the Spring-Summer collection “The Phenomenon of Man” with WHITE and Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana. We look forwards to inspiring and arousing curiosity while introducing a luxury line designed in London and produced in Florence, through to a fashion show aiming to encourage a few considerations on our existence, as inspired from the philosophy of scientist and theologian Pierre Teilhard de Chardin». This eclectic brand, based in London, personifies multiculturalism and displays a creative attitude capable of embracing the most different cultures and the taste of each of us, regardless of the place of origin. POAN is indeed the acronym for PEOPLES OF ALL NATIONS. The idea has been conceived by Austrian Weissacher, previously head designer for Vivienne Westwood, and now focussing on his own line to forge an aesthetic link between history and culture for his modern gentleman to draw from. The focus is on contemporary knitwear, with graphic jerseys, sweaters and sets in precious fabrics. The production is fully made in Italy.
WOOD WOOD, the Danish cutting-edge brand, is coming back to WHITE MAN & WOMAN and on the catwalks. In the wake of January’s fashion show at BASE in via Bergognone, which has sanctioned the label’s international success, a new chapter of the high-end sportswear aesthetics designed by Karl-Oskar Olsen, the brand’s creative director, is about to begin. «The support offered last January by WHITE - so Olsen - has allowed us to make interesting contacts with new clients and guaranteed an effective press coverage. Our presence here goes to show that the brand now has all it requires to be successful internationally». WOOD WOOD is a fashion lifestyle brand strictly connected with the digital era, where references to the online universe merge with street-wear hints, thus giving birth to an extremely contemporary aesthetics. Olsen has also developed a production hybridization concept, between sartorial and street-life, which has given way to several collaborations with the leading and coolest labels. The brand was founded in 2002 in Copenhagen and today it sells both online and offline: beside the online shop, it can count on stores in Berlin, Aarhus and in the Danish Capital. Once again, this season’s WOOD WOOD’s presence in Milan results from the collaboration between the Milanese show and Copenhagen’s trade show REVOLVER, in the framework of the project REVOLVER INSIDE WHITE.
