Salon Peachy: Advanced Colorist Lila Carlino of Mover and Shaker Julien Farel's Julien Farel Restore Salon and Spa Stunningly Updates Peachy's Natural Brunette for a Fabulous Summer 2017 Look!
Summertime, and the living is easy...when your hair's the right color! The sun can be one of the most villainous characters counteracting your color achievements (or more accurately, Lila Carlino's achievements!) and it's essential to take care of your color in this weather...and the best way to take care of it is to make sure it is properly updated by your colorist, and use hair sunscreen. Expert colorist Lila Carlino continues to wow us and in turn, wow everyone who sees and interacts with us in person with her utmost attention to detail, ideal color execution and most of all, possession of superior taste levels to ensure that you have no fear of the result and you'll be all smiles at the conclusion of your Julien Farel Restore Salon and Spa experience.
On a hot, muggy, triple-digit-temperature day in Manhattan when even walking down Park Avenue does not smell like a bed of roses (you know we only publish on the positive! we will let you use your imagination...), walking in the door of Julien Farel becomes an even more positive experience; walking into the salon, your olfactory senses experience April in Paris. We love it when a brand goes beyond what it specifically excels in (hair) to make all of your senses elevated.
"We're matching Peachy to her natural color today, making it a nice, rich brown," comments Lila Carlino, who intelligently discusses color goals with her guests before waving her magic color wand. "We're using 6N Majirel L'Oreal on your roots; later on we'll do a shiny gloss 7N Wella Color Touch. I like this gloss because it eliminates the brassiness and it keeps the shine. And there will be no red!"(Peachy's main color goal.) Lila is assisted by Olga Corona, who is a beacon of sunshine and also careful with detail.
"I see a lot of people coming in for highlights; it seems like a lot of people are doing face-framing highlights this season and keeping the base nice and rich. About 20% is highlighted while the rest is the richer, deeper contrast. Baby blondes and caramel highlights have been popular; I enjoy doing a variation," continues Lila. "Because the sun is so strong in the summer, I usually tell people to spray an aerosol sunscreen into their hair or look for an actual hair sunscreen to spray in before going into the sun. If they're going to be going into the pool or ocean, they should wet their hair with regular water first before going in. Your hair is absorbent; it's like a sponge. If your hair already has water in it, it's not going to absorb as much of the salt or chlorine. Rinse your hair again when you come out. A spray conditioner also helps to keep your hair moisturized."
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we are glad to know Mover and Shakers Julien and Suelyn, and we have known them for years; we met them in March 2009!
