TLC’s new prequel series, 90 DAY FIANCÉ: BEFORE THE 90 DAYS will chronicle the time before the K-1 Visa process begins, from meeting in person for the first time to traveling to a foreign country they barely know or understand. The series follows the stories of Americans who believe they’ve met the love of their lives, a future husband or wife, through various methods including international dating websites and apps. Can online romance lead to true love? Despite challenges including 20-year age gaps, language barriers and daunting three-day boat rides down the Amazon river, these American singles travel vast distances to meet the person they believe is their soulmate.
90 DAY FIANCÉ: BEFORE THE 90 DAYS will follow would-be couples as they uncover hidden truths, navigate cultural differences and decide if their love is meant to be. The show premieres after an all new 90 DAY FIANCE: HAPPILY EVER AFTER which airs at 8/7. 90 DAY FIANCÉ: BEFORE THE 90 DAYS premieres at 9/8c.
The series will follow couples during their journeys including:
Darcey (Middletown, Connecticut) and Jesse (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
Darcey, 42, and Jesse, 24, met on a global dating app. Darcey instantly fell for Jesse who is a personal trainer and fitness model. After several months of calling and texting, the couple was already talking about taking their relationship to the next level. Darcey, a divorced mother of two pre-teen daughters, has decided to take a leap of faith and travel to Amsterdam to meet Jesse in person.
Paul (Louisville, Kentucky) and Karine (Tonantins, Brazil)
Paul, 34, and Karine, 21, met online via a dating app that focuses on Latinas. Though neither speak each other’s language, the two have been communicating through translated text messages. Paul plans to embark on his first international trip ever to Karine’s home village that is located on the Amazon river.
Sean (Springfield, Ohio) and Abby (Port-au-Prince, Haiti)
Sean, 47, met Abby, 20 on a dating site and have since spent months texting, calling and video chatting every day. Now, Sean has decided to book a trip to meet Abby in person and bring an engagement ring with him, as he plans on proposing. However, despite their growing love, Sean worries that Abby’s continued friendship with an ex-boyfriend could threaten to derail their relationship.
Larry (Pinellas Park, Florida) and Jenny (Urdaneta City, Philippines)
Larry, 37, met Jenny, 24, on a dating site geared towards Filipino women. Larry had made plans to visit Jenny in the Philippines but he discovers something that throws into question her intentions. Larry wants to find the truth behind the shocking revelation and if Jenny is committed to the relationship for the right reasons.
