Special project by Martine Rose at CIFF SS18 Martine Rose is the name increasingly on everybody’s lips on the menswear scene and she’s coming to CIFF!

Martine Rose demonstrates the unique ability of being able to subvert and reimagine the familiar to create something entirely new, yet instantly recognizable. Although she acknowledges the role of fantasy in fashion, Rose is refreshingly of the view that fashion also needs to be rooted in reality.

While not exactly a newcomer (Rose founded her label back in 2007 and has been designing steadily for other brands including Balenciaga), she made a noticeable return to the runway this past January after choosing less traditional modes of presenting her collections in previous seasons, and critics are taking note.

Martine's previous collection explored male workwear from banker to bus driver and was unveiled in a North London market for greater authenticity. For Spring Summer 2018, Rose looked to outdoor lifestyle culture—rock climbers, golfers, bicycle messengers, unveiling her collection suitably enough at a climbing centre.

In keeping with its ongoing commitment to support and nurture emerging design talent, CIFF is thrilled to present Martine Rose to its community at the upcoming Spring Summer 2018 fair. For CIFF, Martine Rose will recreate elements of her climbing centre concept. Come discover what the critics are buzzing about.
