#WhomWeMiss #NewYorkNotes RECORDING ACADEMYTM STATEMENT RE: PAUL BUCKMASTER Nov. 9, 2017

"
Paul Buckmaster was a legendary arranger, composer, and conductor recognized for bringing his majestic orchestrations to pop and rock recordings for nearly 50 years. His compositions brought a unique sound to a diverse collection of recordings such as David Bowie's 'Space Oddity,' the Rolling Stones' 'Moonlight Mile,' and Elton John’s 'Madman Across The Water.' In 2001, Buckmaster teamed with Train on their hit 'Drops Of Jupiter,' which earned him the GRAMMY® for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s). We have lost an influential member of our music community, but his extraordinary talent and inventive arrangements will continue to inspire fellow musicians. Our thoughts go out to his collaborators, family, and friends during this difficult time."
