Fulfillment by Amazon shipped billions of items for small and medium-sized businesses worldwide in 2017

Half of items purchased by customers on Amazon are from small and medium-sized businesses selling through the Amazon Marketplace

More than 300,000 U.S.-based small and medium-sized businesses joined the Amazon Marketplace in 2017, and SMBs on Amazon sold billions of items to customers around the world. Half of the items sold on Amazon worldwide are from small and medium-sized businesses that offer their products through the Amazon Marketplace, many of whom also choose to use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to tap into Amazon's global logistics network and make their items Prime eligible. In 2017, FBA shipped billions of items for small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

Small and medium-sized businesses on Amazon come from every state in the U.S. and more than 130 countries around the world. In 2017, customers ordered billions of items from small and medium-sized businesses on Amazon, including more than one billion items during the holiday season.

Amazon Lending surpassed $3 billion lent to small businesses on Amazon since the program started in 2011.
Amazon Handmade expanded to encompass 10 categories offering customers more than one million handcrafted items from thousands of artisans and small business owners across all 50 states and more than 60 countries.
During the Holiday Season, customers ordered more than 1 billion items from SMBs on Amazon, with more than 140 million items ordered between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
