#WestCoastPeachy #CruisingPeachy #WhomYouKnow @LaJollaConcours La Jolla Concours d’Elegance Concludes an Inspiring 14th Year Of World Class Cars and World Class Experience (Save the Date : April 12th-14th, 2019)

Staying true to the tagline “World Class Cars, World Class Experience” the 14th Annual La Jolla Concours d’Elegance proved yet again that it is so much more than just a car show. With three awe-inspiring days of extravagant events that took place Friday, April 6th through Sunday, April 8th, the La Jolla Concours transformed the chic coastal town of La Jolla, California into a paradise for automotive enthusiasts and luxury lifestyle aficionados alike.

On Friday, April 6th, the La Jolla Concours was kicked off with a 1930s-1940s cocktail party at Covo La Jolla: The Rolls-Royce Dapper and Delight Soiree presented by UBS Financial Services and Schubach Aviation. The exotic silver-painted Rolls-Royce stilt walkers and showcase of exquisite Rolls-Royce automobiles, provided by O’Gara Coach La Jolla, created an exceptional entrance into Covo La Jolla’s elegant atmosphere where over 400 party-goers were welcomed with delectable bites and fine scotch tastings from The Balvenie. The hosted bar and live performances topped off the night of swank and style as attendees danced unabashed into the night.

On Saturday, April 7th, the Porsche San Diego Tour d’Elegance invited over 200 attendees to take a scenic tour of San Diego’s most treasured collections. The Tour kicked off at Porsche San Diego with a tour of their new showroom over coffee and breakfast. From there, the motorcade paraded through San Diego to Chuck Spielman’s Only Yesterday Museum where entrants were given a very rare and unique opportunity to see one of the most incredible collections of automobiles as well as view a Vietnam War Tribute Museum filled with spectacular military artifacts. The next stop of the Tour featured a stunningly timeless collection of vintage Rolls-Royce and Bentley autos and top luxury brands at the 20-year old Calumet Collection. The Tour then traveled to the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club where guests were treated to a delicious lunch on the white sands of San Diego’s only private beach and received a gift courtesy of Robert Talbott and the Ascot Shop.

The evening of Saturday, April 7th, entrants, judges, sponsors, and a few lucky members of the public spent an evening of decadence with a colorful and creative extravaganza at the Aston Martin Art Deco Party at the Cove presented by Fraser. Over 1000 guests were led by flamingo stilt walkers and candy-inspired entertainers down the vibrant carpeted pathway into the glamorous Art Deco Miami-inspired VIP reception featuring elevated bites from 20 incredible restaurants, five hosted bars including the Sugarglazed Land room offering curious candy-inspired craft cocktails by Hendricks Gin, a silent and live auction, a stunning array of gorgeous Aston Martins, and live entertainment from the crowd-favorite performer, Dave Patrone. Larger than life stilt walkers paraded around the colossal glitzy chandelier in the center of the party as guests cheers over bubbles and sips at the luxury lounges.

The 2018 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance concluded its 14th year on a high note on April 8th, 2018 with over 10,000 attendees and a jaw-dropping display of automobiles set along the picturesque cliffs of the Pacific Ocean. The remarkable automobiles were curated by the expertise of a dedicated, all-volunteer committee led by Chairman G. Michael Dorvillier, Chief Judge Nigel Matthews and Chair of Car Selection Committee Robert F. Kerner Jr. The show saw over 10,000 attendees over the course of the day. The superior collections were highlighted by similarly superior experiences with the Aston Martin Champagne and Honey Tasting Garden presented by Fraser, offering tasting flights of honey from around the world and a new flower garden to dress our guests with beautifully woven flower crowns. VIP guests were welcomed to the Bridge Club for hosted bars and satisfying nibbles from 16 of San Diego’s top chefs presented by BizX.

Over 135 stunning displays of automotive innovation competed in 20 classes, in addition to 17 specialty awards, during the La Jolla Concours. From the featured marque, Lincoln, to incredible one of a kind automobiles, American classics, vintage racers, spectacular display of Japanese Collectables, and more, this year’s La Jolla Concours d’Elegance evoked the sense of being treated to a pop-up museum of moving sculpture. Guests were given the once in a lifetime opportunity to experience the fine display of rare, high-caliber automobiles on the 2018 Concours lawn that kept heads turning from beginning to end. Eyes turned to the skies for a vintage air parade presented by Icon Aircraft featuring beautifully restored aircrafts from the Historic Flight Foundation, including a B-25 Mitchell Bomber, Douglas C-47/DC-3 transport plane, and B-25D “Grumpy”.

The Best of Show award was presented to Peter Mullin of the Mullin Automotive Museum for their astounding 1939 Bugatti Type 57SC Aravis Cabriolet.

The 2019 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance is on course to produce the most extravagant and elegant affair yet for its’ 15th year anniversary. Save the date for a weekend of beautiful cars, world class parties and over-the-top decadence; April 12th – April 14th, 2019.
