Everyone we know likes dolls, and what could be better than a customization that you create yourself!  This is the perfect book to use all of your leftover yarn from every project that you've done because these dolls are not so big and with different colors, you can create quite an array of characters, both people and animals!

This is the first book we believe we've considered from Make etc publishing, part of Ryland Peters, and the bright, brilliant colors are terrifically inspiring to get you onto starting your own dollmaking.  This is also a great gift-giving idea.  The choice of putting the mermaid on the cover is perfect because after paging through, that was our favorite.  And of course, summer is here.  Some designs can be modified as the lab girl could also be transformed into a doctor, and certainly you don't have to dress the dolls in knitted wear-possibly Barbie would be willing to share.  You can also knit Beach Babes and Surfer Dudes. All kinds of fun are contained that fast-forward to winter as well.

The possibilities are endless and the 35 patterns contained are just the starting point. We'd advise you to be patient as it can be tough to get the smaller stitches for the face features just right.  Take your time and do it right, and as you go along they'll get better and better.

Over 35 patterns for dolls & their outfits, accessories and pets

From Bella the Ballerina and Sophia the Scientist, to Surfer Dude Ben and Hipster Henry, you’re sure to find a knitted doll perfect for you in this brilliant book by Fiona Goble. Full of character and fun, these original projects make perfect handmade gifts for kids and adults alike.

Each project uses one basic doll knitting pattern which you can then add your own personal style to! Choose from one of the loveable characters or mix and match hairstyles, colours, outfits and accessories to make a knitted doll unique to you. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced knitter, there is a project to suit your abilities, plus a techniques section to help you along the way.
