Star of the Show at Kitchen 21: Riley Jacobs, whom you want to know!
Riley is Sales and Marketing Manager for Kitchen 21 toasting the Parachute Bar in the real historic Parachute Chair.
Absolutely Brilliant Poached Lobster with Black Caviar:

It's no secret that we love landmarks, and we love eating in them even more!
Drumroll please, it's time for the first feature EVER in Peachy Picks The Beach.
Peachy definitely picks being at a beach period, but up until this point, Peachy has never eaten at a New York beach, unless you count the food she brought there herself from Manhattan which up until this point is way better than what has been there.
This is our first professional food feature ever at a beach, and Kitchen 21 based on our first visit is absolutely the best thing that has happened to a New York beach in terms of food.
Look at how gorgeous this place is.
We know, you think you are in Manhattan except there is a beach right out the window.
Walk around virtually with us and check out the beauty.

Believe it or not, this is fast casual!
Built in 1923, Kitchen 21 was once the Child's Restaurant and it became a Landmark in 2002.  After being Child's, it was a Peeps factory (you know, the marshmallow chicks at Easter!) and from 2008-10 it was a Roller Rink.  Kitchen 21 opened on May 2017 and is right next to the Ford Amphitheater that opened in 2015.  Live Nation runs Ford Amphitheater and Legends Hospitality does concessions for everywhere that Live Nation runs we understand.
You absolutely need to enter with shirt, shorts and footwear which could be flip flops.

After we put in our order, we were noticing how CLEAN everything is.  This is in sharp contrast to how we feel if we ever leave Manhattan because in the transition to get from Manhattan to where we are going, you can encounter not clean.
Look at the reflection of the windows on the table.
This is the truth.
We are definitely impressed with the level of cleanliness overall which is even harder to achieve with the beach literally right out the door.

Kitchen 21 is a Parachute Bar and a cafe.
The last is self-explanatory, but what is a Parachute Bar we wanted to know?

When you sit at the bar, you see the historic Parachute Jump out the window.
There is even an authentic original Parachute Jump Chair that you can sit in yourself and take a picture. Kitchen 21 has a superior atmosphere with its significant historical impact and absolute degree of fun.  We haven't even gotten to the food or the roofdeck yet.

Sales and Marketing Manager of Kitchen 21, Riley Jacobs was a pleasure to work with and she gives the venue an aura of care and excellence.  We were impressed with her knowledge and  enthusiasm.  When your order is in, you are given a buzzer and when it goes off, the runner will deliver it to you.
So, Riley told us they had a rooftop garden.  The last time we heard about rooftop anything was during the many years we featured the three venues of The Waldorf=Astoria; they had bee hives on their roof.  We did not check those out as Peachy is not an insect fan.  We did want to see this roof garden with mint and cilantro and more!
We'll let you read the labels yourself and for everyone that thinks trendy farm to table is the freshest you can get, no, THIS is the freshest you can get.  The garden is AT THE RESTAURANT.  Riley showed us.

When you look out from the roof garden, you see this:

We like it on the roof even better!
All great American menus have a killer burger, and Peachy likes CHEESE on them always.
The Best Burger is aptly named.  All are "smashed" which translates to coming out medium, and coming to this carnivorous endeavor is swiss, smashed shallots, cabernet mushrooms, truffle aioli and it arrives in style on a Portugeuse Bun that is fresh and lovely.  Every juicy bite will absolutely make your day and the components are in perfect proportion to each other.   Peachy was so intoxicated by the magnificent smell, the burger did not last longer than one picture.

Under for the Table they offer Melon and Prosciutto, which is a step above any other fast casual spot around.  Prosciutto di Parma and Cantaloupe party in the balsamic with the mint, grown on the roof of course.

The first salad we tried was the "Nice" Salad, which is named after someone in the organization (it is not Salad Nicoise as in Nice, France.)  Mixed greens, aged ricotta, Marcona Almonds which we particularly loved, Craisins, Cucumbers, Roasted Corn, Tomatoes, Chickpeas, Bacon, Eggs and Balsamic team up to form a summer extravaganza of goodness.  Everything was properly sliced and it was delicious.  How many salads are delicious?!

A fabulous lobster roll is hard to find in New York especially.
It's not hard to find at Kitchen 21!
For years everyone talks about how great outer boroughs are and how Coney Island is being invested in and it is going to be great.
The edible embodiment of this idea is the Coney Island Lobster Roll at Kitchen 21.
Poached Lobster, Vanilla Aioli, Black Caviar, and Micro Celery all luxuriate upon a New England Split-Top Bun.  It is the definition of luxury and why on earth anyone would eat a hotdog or see how many of them they can eat is beyond us when you could eat this Coney Island Lobster Roll.
It is perfection.

The Kale Caesar Salad is fresh and delicious and we were impressed with the White Anchovies in particular.  Vegetables are locally sources and baby organic kale joins shaved parmesean and the caesar dressing they put on the side, as requested.
Finally, they have a Brick Oven:
so we would be remiss without trying the pizza!
There are three pizza choices, and the Classic Pizza with San Marzano Tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil with homemade dough was just incredible from the flavor to the crust to the perfect crispness that was just right.
Get on the Q train and march yourself to the beach to eat at Kitchen 21!
We don't have a beach in Manhattan!
Peachy Picks The Beach Kitchen 21 at Coney Island!
Kitchen 21 by Legends Hospitality is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
