Branzino!!!
Do you see the wine through the wine?!
It's not who you know. It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Marco, who has advanced to Mover and Shaker, years ago, a rare feat for a restaurateur. It is ridiculous that we have not featured Marcony in Peachy Dines Al Fresco since 2012:
So we recently returned. You're going to see from the pictures that Peachy had every intention of staying outside but when the weather did not cooperate, we concluded inside.
The water is perfect, the setting is immaculate on the Marcony side of the hedge, and dinner perfection awaits you.
M is for Marco.
NY is for New York.
To Peachy, supertuscan is her favorite superhero.
Supertuscan should have its own comic book series and franchise. Obviously, the wine continues to be tops at Marcony, which obviously has earned an A. Marcony is in the top three Manhattan restaurants of Whom You Know for being a Peachy's Pick over time and we are honored to have worked with them since 2011.
Every Italian place is going to give you a bread basket that is presumably awesome.
But only Marcony's has sundried tomato with olive oil.
Somehow this magically disappears on the fluffy white Italian bread when placed in close proximity to Peachy.
Marcony was most recently featured last winter:
As you know, we are into great salads this season especially.
Meet our friend, Panzanella. Cucumber, red onion, tomatoes and mixed greens waltz among ricotta salata (dried and cured in salt) and croutons to refresh your appetite for a starter. It was a special of the night we visited. It's chopped perfectly chunky, and is also seasoned well, which many salads are not. Just the right touch of cheese is used.
Brand new to the appetizer section is Tuna Tartare! Finely chopped Ahi tuna, zucchini, and carrots all revel among four sauces: spicy mayo, teriyaki glaze (and we like that Marcony is listening to us as we have been saying we want more teriyaki), wasabi sauce and sweet balsamic. A delicate, brilliant flavor awaits you to ignite your summer. The masterpiece presentation will entice you first.
Do not forget how awesome their chandelier is!
No, dessert did not come early.
Yes, Marcony is aesthetically-motivated.
Meet Sformantino di melanzane! It is another new menu item.
Eggplant souffle with parmigiano, mozzarella and ricotta di bufala is gorgeously finished oven-roasted topped with burrata fondue on a layer of tomato sauce.
Pure decadence of simplicity!
Every time she visits Marcony, Peachy dreams of Tortellini Marcony for a good solid week before her visit. She was horrified when she found out they are taking a break for the summer and that they will be back for the fall. She thinks their vacation and permanent home is her stomach. However, she was hugely surprised to find something that she liked nearly as much: Fettuccine Cacio e Pepe, a special! Fragrant simplicity invites you in with brilliant black pepper and pecorino that will wow you so much you will actually eat it for breakfast the very next day if you can't finish it. (Truth!) It is AMAZING. Marcony does pasta so well.
We also adore the bubble lighting.
The red pasta was chosen for us, and when we have worked with you for as long as we have worked with Marco, we do let you have an awful lot of input when you have proven your taste over time. Linguine ala vongole in red sauce sings a song of summer on your plate and is topped off with a red chili pepper. You won't want to share or give it away now, (know the song?), but you will want to delicately devour it. Garlic and olive oil join in in perfect proportion and the cascade of clams at the base is beautiful.
The Branzino at Marcony is in a word, flawless. And succulently moist and delicious for more words. It's grilled and deboned for you. The freshness is evident in every bite as Marcony has a fish delivery from Sicily every two days. This entree epitomizes summer and triumphs over the competition.
Another special of the night was the Chicken of the Day, and the Al Limone rendition, which of course means with lemon, was entirely also seasonally appropriate. It arrives in style with green beans and carrots and roasted potatoes. The light, decadent sauce tasted just as bit as classy as every other component of Marcony.
Dessert? Yes please, and the berries are just what we wanted. And, you can trust the cappuccino at Marcony too. Not everyone does caffeine this well.
Stay tuned for the next hit of the Marcony hit parade!
We love Marcony: Marcony continues to be Highly Recommended!
