#SmallScreenScenes @DIYNetwork #WhomYouKnow Take a Virtual Tour of DIY Network Ultimate Retreat 2018 Located in Sapphire, North Carolina

Charming home with modern mountain aesthetic will be given away to one lucky winner this fall

Tucked away in the scenic mountain enclave of Sapphire, North Carolina, DIY Network® Ultimate Retreat™ 2018 is a small slice of heaven where outdoor adventure is always right around the corner. Starting today, fans can enjoy a full virtual tour at DIYNetwork.com/UltimateRetreat.

Planned by local architecture firm Wilson Architects, Inc. and constructed by local builder Iezzi Custom Homes, the home is part of a grand prize package valued at over $800,000 that will be awarded this fall. In addition to the fully furnished and renovated residence, the winner will receive a $50,000 cash prize provided by national mortgage lender Quicken Loans®.

“DIY Network Ultimate Retreat was launched last year to showcase the best getaway spots our country has to offer, and we should all be so lucky to have a place as special as Sapphire on our vacation lists,” said Ron Feinbaum, DIY Network’s General Manager of Home Promotions. “The surrounding mountains exemplify Appalachian beauty, and we think Sapphire’s casual lifestyle and focus on outdoor living will strike a chord with our fans.”

DIY Network Ultimate Retreat 2018 started as a modest creekside residence with a decidedly 1980s design aesthetic. Under direction from interior designer Elizabeth Demos and project manager Dylan Eastman, a top-to-bottom renovation has transformed this three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home into an idyllic retreat for the family.

The approximately 2,500-square-foot home has a textural and sophisticated exterior style that gives way to an interior defined by a modern mountain aesthetic. Inside, there is abundant local flavor with the use of reclaimed materials and tonal hues inspired by Sapphire’s tranquil landscape. The expansive living room anchors the main living space in the house, featuring tall ceilings, a stunning two-way fireplace that is visible from the deck outside, and an open floorplan that flows seamlessly into the kitchen and dining room. The master suite adds a touch of luxury to the down-to-earth vibe, and a rustic bunk room amps up the mountain charm. Out back, multi-leveled decks and a serene water view provide ample incentive to soak up the beauty of the outdoors.
