#TerrificTakeout by @ManhattanPeachy #PeachyDeegan #WhomYouKnow Tailor Public House and Kitchen by John McCorry and team @thetailorpub

Owner John McCorry and Executive Chef Silvestre Mora
It's not who you know, it's Whom You Know and now we know The Tailor, open since April 5, 2018 by John McCorry and business partners John and Brendan.  On our first visit, we were promptly greeted and seated upstairs; the venue seats 400.  It's brand new and immaculate, and we love that.
This is John McCorry's first restaurant and the third for the other two owners.  Located in the Fashion District, The Tailor is aptly named complete with both a Fitting Room and Cutting Room.  However, you can't get a new dress.  You can get dinner!
Guinness is a priority for Peachy Deegan, and the first time they did it right.
If you are not Irish, you should know that there is a big difference between pulling a perfect pint, and not doing it properly.
There are five entree choices on their first menu ever, and the first one we opted for was the Chipotle Glazed Atlantic Salmon.  We have had salmon about a million different ways, however, we do not remember having it Chipotle Glazed.  This brilliant accent on the fish was joined by even better scallion whipped potatoes, sauteed spinach and agave nectar giving this dish a distinct south american twist.
It is absolutely essential to have a fantastic burger on your dinner menu in Manhattan if you want to be competitive, and The Tailor has got one.  Even better, a cheeseburger. Peachy only likes them with cheese.  The eight ounce burger was properly executed at medium:
It's made even better with brilliant hickory smoked bacon, diamond cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion and french fries.  Tailor House Fish and Chips proved to be another great experience, and the battered codfish is sourced locally from Montauk, Long Island.  The batter was perfectly golden and they were not too crispy and not too soft for Goldilocks Peachy who likes everything JUST RIGHT.  You can tell that their tartar sauce is house made and salt and pepper fries come to the party on a plate.  Note that if you have never eaten this in Ireland or the UK it is traditional to have the paper background and this adds to the authenticity.  Avid readers know we have a huge audience in the UK and Ireland because Peachy used to live there and has that ancestry to match.
Especially when we go to a place for the very first time we want to know what they like the best on the menu.   John McCorry encouraged the Adobo Chicken Sandwich.
He was right.
This is the best chicken sandwich we've had this year!  On Fresh Ciabatta bread you'll discover delicious grilled chicken with Jersey ham, jack cheese, bacon, red onions, picked jalapenos which bring the right amount of heat without overdoing it, avocado and cilantro aioli.  This terrific combination is sure to wow you too.  We would like to see more salad choices in the future; we tried The House Mixed Greens this trip with red onion, carrots, English cucumber, and roma toma tomatoes, all of which were fresh.
Another hit was the Neapolitan Pizza, and we reveled in the simplicity of the roasted tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and parmigiana.  We look forward to seeing what The Tailor does next.
