Discovery announces the launch of QuestOD, a catch-up and live streaming service for its UK free-to-air factual entertainment brands Quest and Quest Red.
To coincide with the start of the new EFL season, Quest content will launch in HD, so fans can watch the EFL highlights whenever and wherever they want. Offering live streaming and catch-up for Quest and Quest Red, this is the first time Quest’s sister channel Quest Red will be available on-demand. The player features a brand-new design and user interface, while a QuestOD app is available as a smart phone and tablet app for iOS and Android.
Earlier this year, Quest announced it had secured the rights to the EFL Highlights in a four-year deal. Kicking off with the 2018 season, all EFL Highlights shows will be available live in HD and catch-up on QuestOD, including match highlights hosted by Colin Murray every Saturday night, highlights shows capturing the action from mid-week fixtures and highlights from the Carabao Cup and final of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Much loved favourite shows from Quest and Quest Red will be available via the on demand service. Coming up on Quest, Salvage Hunters: The Restorers and Fifth Gear are back with new episodes whilst on Quest Red, Katie Price: My Crazy Life season 2 continues, with brand-new series Paranormal Lockdown UK and Saving Britain’s Wildlife entering the schedule, alongside new episodes of My 600LB Life.
“Quest continues to go from strength-to-strength with a record-breaking Q1 this year and Quest Red is the fastest growing free-to-air entertainment channel since its launch last year,” said James Gibbons EVP, General Manager of UK / Ireland, Australia & New Zealand and Head of Commercial Development for EMEA, Discovery.
“There is a huge appetite for the Quest channels’ content, and we’re delighted to be investing in an on demand service that makes this content available to fans across all platforms. This new player gives fans the freedom to access their favourite content across multiple devices, and what better occasion to go live than with the launch of the EFL Highlights.
Quest’s linear channel will be launching in HD on Sky, Virgin, and Freesat on July 31st; all other customers can access the channel in HD via the QuestOD player and app. Quest is available on Freesat 167, Sky 144, Freeview 37 and Virgin 172, and Quest Red is available on Freeview 38, Freesat 169, Sky 149, Virgin 215 and BT TV 38.
