The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Sunday at The Met series will present a talk highlighting the exhibition Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and explore the nature and design of sacred spaces on September 23.

Bishop Paul Tighe, Secretary of the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Culture, will be in conversation with Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute, and Barbara Boehm, Paul and Jill Ruddock Senior Curator, The Met Cloisters. Moderated by Father James Martin, SJ, the discussion is inspired by the Catholic faith and will explore the intersections of sacred space, ritual, and fashion. It will touch on Heavenly Bodies as well as the Vatican Chapels exhibition at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale.

The conversation begins at 2 p.m. in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium and is free with Museum admission.

Sunday at The Met is an ongoing afternoon program providing insight into current exhibitions as well as the Museum's collection. It features lectures, films, discussions, readings, panels, demonstrations, and performances.

Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination is on view at The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters through October 8, 2018.
