In its sixth edition, the second in Florence, DaTE asserts its status as the autumn must-attend event for the Italian avant-garde eyewear market. About 3,000 buyers and industry professionals turned out for the preview showings of more than 200 select brands from the USA, Japan, Austria, Denmark, the UK, Spain, France and Italy.
The official social media channels also performed brilliantly: 28,000+ views of the posts, 2,000+ visits to the Instagram profile and 1,000+ contents created by users with the official hashtags #dateyewear2018 and #shapingavantgarde.
Excellence is the DaTE key to success. Its drawing power is based on a few, essential elements: an elite group of select companies, a target audience of high-profile industry professionals, a minimalist but striking staging platform designed to promote business and spotlight the collections and the people who created them. And, along these lines, thanks to their great appeal and central location, Florence and the Leopolda proved they are the ideal location to host the 2019 edition, set to take place September 21-23.
Another future alert – the DaTE organizers surprised everyone by announcing to the exhibitors in Florence their intention to organize a DaTE USA edition in Santa Monica, California in the month of May 2019. The idea was inspired by a partnership with Fiera Milano and ITA (Italian Trade Agency) that plans to export DaTE’s winning format overseas, targeting an affluent market, open to new ideas, where there are currently no specialized events like this and where this kind of product is highly-sought-after. Now the torch passes to the exhibitors – to transform their ideas into action, the organizers are waiting for feedback from manufacturers. Selections are already under way.
