#NewYorkNotes #WhomWeMiss #WhomYouKnow @RecordingAcad @ADtheBand RECORDING ACADEMY™ STATEMENT RE: BABA OJE OCT. 30, 2018

Baba Oje, a member of the GRAMMY®-winning group Arrested Development, helped shape one of the most unique collectives in the hip-hop community. Known as the group's spiritual elder, Oje was famous for his fiery presence and dedication to sharing his wisdom with his fellow group members. With Arrested Development, he was awarded the Best New Artist GRAMMY and Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for "Tennessee" at the 35th GRAMMY Awards. Oje will be greatly missed, and our thoughts go out to all who have been impacted by his work and wisdom.
