"We're going to put our bespoke formula on your roots and bring your hair up a couple shades, and we're going to put some new golden autumn highlights," explains colorist Thomas Morrissey. "L'Oreal Peroxide 20 volume cream, which is warmer than a clear peroxide, and three different shades together of Clairol compose Chestnut Hues and Golden Hues. We don't want to go too dark, and the darker you go, the quicker those little gray glints will show! And we don't want that. And so the highlights camouflage those silver roots as well."
"Holiday hair means to me that you go to your stylist and do a fancy updo and put a diamond clip or a red bow. As a colorist, I believe holiday hair does not mean you change your haircolor," comments the wise Morrissey. "Not my department: go to your stylist and do a French Twist." No Green hair for the Grinch Peachy! Even though she is Irish! (*we are kidding if you are new to us...)
