New Global Commission Richard Hammond’s BIG! To Air Globally, including Discovery Channel UK, Science Channel U.S, and DMAX Italy, Spain & Germany

 Discovery today announces its first commission with iconic British motoring presenter Richard Hammond. Produced by Chimp, Richard Hammond’s BIG! (10×60) sees the award-winning host embark on a global adventure – from the UK to Germany and the US – to explore the world’s biggest structures and machines.

Richard Hammond (Top Gear, The Grand Tour and Brainiac: Science Abuse) is going behind-the-scenes of the largest structures and machines in the world to understand the science of ‘big’ – how engineers go about building, maintaining and using these superstructures. Each episode of Richard Hammond’s BIG!takes him to a new location and mega structure, where he meets the unsung heroes at the front line making them work and explores the science behind them with a series of experiments.

Locations include the UK, US, Germany, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands; with structures from the world’s longest underground railway tunnel to a cargo ship the size of four football pitches.

Richard Hammond’s BIG! was commissioned for Discovery by Senior Director & Executive Producer, Victoria Noble, with Oliver Wilson as Executive Producer. The series is produced by Chimp Productions with Andrew Barron as Series Producer and Michael Massey as Executive Producer.

Discovery will commission, produce and distribute the series across the Globe. Richard Hammond’s BIG! will air on Discovery Channel in a number of markets including the UK, Netherlands and France; Science Channel in the U.S and channels including DMAX Italy, Spain and Germany across EMEA.
