All hail the MUFFLED TRUSHROOM, Peachy's favorite.
It's not who you know, and it never has been.
Get your grammar in order: English matters.
EXCELLENCE MATTERS.
It's WHOM YOU KNOW.
Now we know Hannah and Jamiel!
Whom You Know is devoted to the pursuit of excellence and those that practice it, and it is less common than you'd think.
Oath Pizza is showing New York that sometimes the most wicked awesome comes from Massachusetts. If you have been a resident of that state before, you already know that. The gospel of #EvertoExcel is reinforced in Chestnut Hill, home to the best hockey and football teams in the world, and basketball too if Mickey Curley is playing.
Oath Pizza on the Upper East Side has earned two reviews and they did everything right the first time both times:
Sometimes, Peachy goes to the West Side and based on her previous experiences, she had high hopes for the UWS location, which has been open since Fall 2018. Oath Pizza is on a very short list of places that are franchises that we like. We look forward to meeting the owners on their next trip to New York.
When we got there, we saw something we rarely see in a restaurant: their own garden:
So, this is how fresh the basil will be on your pizza:
We met Hannah Sharaf of Farmshelf, this company; she was tending to the garden.
On the right is fantastic team member Jamiel Burkhart, who is hard-working, detail oriented and a pleasure to work with. Jamiel has been a team member since this place opened, and the UWS location is under the management of GM Mario Vasquez, and the fabulous manager Rashana Collins, who was also a pleasure to meet. Oath pizza all three visits has upbeat, dedicated staff which is extremely rare to see at any fast-casual place. Also, we like the level of cleanliness we see which is crucial.
Beautiful right? So, for all the Italian speakers it is quite obvious why it is named BELLA.
Mozzarella, roasted cherry tomatoes, roasted garlic, ricotta, balsamic drizzle, grana padano cheese and FRESH BASIL previously mentioned adorn this lovely number. Its authenticity will wow you and the combination in such a right proportion wins.
Although Peachy is Catholic technically speaking, her most religious experience the day she visits Oath Pizza is her glorious interaction with the Muffled Trushroom. Do not speak to her when she is within smelling distance. Inhaling the smell is just as great as tasting it, but she doesn't just taste it. This pizza does not make it very far because guess who walks a block and thinks she needs another slice. And again. And then it's gone.
Actions speak louder than words.
The house-made truffle spread is to-die-for especially when it waltzes with mozzarella, mushrooms, ricotta and grana padano cheese.
If you are not eating this, you are not living your best life.
Introducing the Beyond Pizza, a new one to the menu:
It is aptly named because it has freshly-made plant-based Beyond Meatballs. It is vegan, so if you are this has your name all over it. Peachy is not a vegan, she is a Deegan but she thought she would try what is new. To her, it did not taste like meat meatballs but more like sausage. Also, this has the fresh basil, roasted cherry tomato spread, baby spinach, mushrooms, and white beans.
Right now we see two salads on the menu: Caesar Salad, above, and Greek Salad, below. Both are respectively spectacular and fresh. The Caesar boasts romaine, grana padano cheese, and superior house made croutons. Peachy does not like many croutons but she likes these. They put the dressing on the side in both cases for Ms. Pretty Picky and we like their level of detail pursued at Oath Pizza. The Greek Salad is composed of romaine, grape tomatoes, red onions, kalamata olives, green peppers, banana peppers and feta.
We were equally impressed with the Upper West Side's performance and next time we look forward to adding their wine that we now see on the menu.
