A proven winner just got BETTER WITH Steamed Littleneck Clams fresh from Long Island!

Everyone knows that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel filmed at Old Town for part of Series 1 and 2, which was the whole reason Peachy watched that series.
It's never been who you know-it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we absolutely love knowing the esteemed Meagher family and their best Chili on earth. What is better than strolling into Old Town Bar and Grill on a gray day of drizzle to indulge in a smashing bowl of chili that is masterful from the spiced perfection to the sour cream to the cheese to the succulent beef we just love. We dream about this chili and are quite serious in saying it is THE BEST ANYWHERE. We even reference it in the reviews of their competitors.
The only way the chili gets better is when you pair it with a GUINNESS.
Of course they pour a perfect pint at Old Town, and we are honored and proud to say it is the oldest restaurant we review, dating back to 1892.
There are no tricks here, only treats!
We are so into the classic perfection of their menu, that when we find something new we feel like we made a new friend for our stomach. To that end, DRUMROLL PLEASE.
The dozen steamed Littleneck Clams with melted butter are the absolute best anything we ate in Manhattan this month of October. We have never had them before at Old Town, and they are a special RIGHT NOW. You need to march yourself to Old Town pronto just for them. Pictures speak louder than words:
Yes Manhattan, happiness is Littleneck Clams at Old Town Bar and Restaurant. Their exuberant freshness and style awaken your senses and enlighten your day! They are easily removed from their beautiful shells ready to dive into the quality butter pool. Peachy's were so enthused to see her, they cannonballed.

Though we would like to be here all the time, sometimes we ask people that are literally there all the time what their favorite thing on the menu is. Fabulous bartender and server Meagan Dolan tells us her favorite is the smoked turkey ruben, which just hits the spot on a glorious fall day. Stacked with turkey of course, swiss cheese, and russian dressing on rye (oooh we are huge fans of rye!) this hits the spot, especially with their stellar classic potato salad.
We agree with Mayor Bloomberg quite a bit and we published on his administration quite often because he pursued excellence. We miss him at City Hall. HIS favorite Old Town item we are told is the spectacular cheeseburger. Not only is the beef quality superlative along with a great bun with tomato, lettuce and onion, but also they have MUNSTER cheese, a highly underrepresented menu item across the board. Peachy once lived in MUNSTER, IRELAND because that is where CORK is silly. She spent a BC semester at UCC. We are wild for this munster cheese on this burger.
Salads are spectacular here, and this trip we tried the Chicken Caesar, which is dressed to a perfect 10, just like preppy Gerard. Tip your fork to this salad style as it goes down the hatch past your stomach runway, and we particularly like the tomatoes in it which we don't see other people doing. Also note, we have been raving about Old Town for years consistently but you should know the Tech Boom in Manhattan is right around Old Town geographically, and though these professionals are shiny new techies, they frequent proven solid winners like Old Town!!! Of course they do. You can't beat this place.
If you want to be especially healthy, opt for the amazing tuna with dill on wheat, which is simply spectacularly refreshing on any day.
