Fantastic Manager Jennifer Diaz of Oath Pizza Upper West Side with Peachy's Selfie Pizza Creation!
What Peachy's dreams are made of: Muffled Trushroom!
It's never been who you know.
It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we love knowing Oath Pizza and its two fabulous locations on the Upper East and the Upper West Side. We first visited Oath Pizza on the East Side, and ventured to the West for the first time last fall:
It was great then but it was even better this visit. Manager Jennifer Diaz is totally on the ball and doesn't miss a beat-she is one of the most detail-oriented managers we've seen recently anywhere. 99% of the time we only work with owners, but Oath Pizza is out of Nantucket and we must say every interaction we have ever had with any of the managers has been top-notch and professional and far above the average Manhattan pizza joint in terms of professionalism.
We love the high level of cleanliness at Oath pizza from the bathroom to the pizza they literally make right in front of you-you can see for yourself how spotless it is.
They are still growing their own herbs right in front of your eyes.
You can see it fresh right in front of you.
Every other place we feel like is giving us old basil etc since Oath has impressed us so much.
As Jennifer is "on it!" she told us about all the new innovations at Oath, including this new canned cold coffee with Oat Milk. We are big fans of coffee but Peachy is a cow milk devotee through and through personally. If you like Oat Milk, this is delicious!
Another new innovation is the cauliflower crust, which is gluten free. However, it is actually delicious! Believe it or not, low moisture mozzarella cheese is in that cauliflower crust along with spices and seasonings including garlic, which is not at all overwhelming. We were most impressed with the strength of that crust because it did not wimp out all all and firmly held all of the vegetables and cheeses Peachy picked out.
Peachy is close friends with both sugar and gluten so she does love the soda fountain, especially the smashing root beer. They also have the most innovative cups that have a special design so you can sip without needing a straw.
Pull here:
We opted to start with the pepperoni as Peachy is a Deegan and not a vegan. You are not going to believe how light and healthy and NOT GREASY a pepperoni pizza can be until you feast upon this winner. Crafted with applegate pepperoni that parties with house-made tomato sauce, mozzarella blend, wild italian oregano and grana padano cheese, this Pepperoni sets the standard for all Pepperoni pizzas in Manhattan. Note that if you are a vegetarian, vegan or into gluten-free, there are specific designations on the menu that apply to you and of course everything is made to order just for you.
Words do not do the MUFFLED TRUSHROOM justice.
Ever.
Gaze upon that beauty!
Indulge in the smell first: House-made truffle spread, mozzarella blend, mushrooms, ricotta, and grana padano cheese are the ingredients that define pizza heaven.
Not only is it delicious but it is also highly consistent.
We can tell you that lesser pizza places can be great once but cannot always replicate greatness.
We will continue to verify the excellency of the muffled trushroom.
Hard at work:
Not only is Jennifer Diaz excellent and dedicated, but also her team is too.
Here she is with Jamiel Burkhart on the left and Stephanie Peralta on the right.
This time we missed Rashana Collins but surely we will see her again.
Pairing salad with pizza is a superlative idea and every pizza place should have salad but few do it as well as Oath. Both the Greek above and the Caesar below are recommended and we'd venture to suggest they have even more salad options.
The Greek salad is composed of a romaine base, grape tomatoes, red onion, kalamata olives, green peppers, banana peppers and feta. Greek dressing is on the side and you can see from the depth of the containers that these are serious salads.
The Caesar also has a romaine base and is joined by grana padano cheese, house-made croutons, and caesar dressing. You may add chicken to either, but we had them straight this time.
Finally, we wanted to build a selfie.
This means design your own pizza!
We opted to try that cauliflower crust for a base with the classic tomato sauce, mozzarella blend, ricotta and veggies of: mushrooms, baby spinach, roasted garlic, banana peppers and grape tomatoes with garnishes of fresh basil (remember it is literally FRESH right growing right in front of you), wild Italian oregano and grana padano cheese. It was not only highly nutritious and also delicious and that last picture above evidences even though Peachy started her edible demolition with a bite taken because she couldn't wait for the camera: the crust really is that strong!
Oath Pizza on the Upper West Side impressed us again right down to the dark chocolate chunk coolie baked on premises!
