Best Chicken Quesadillas in Manhattan!
They hit the spot at a time when we all need comfort food.
As the outside world of what we can't control gets crazier these days, the constants that remain become more and more treasured. And that means our favorite restaurants like BEDFORD FALLS, one of the newest Peachy's Picks.
Bedford Falls was last featured when it earned the rank of Peachy's Picks last summer:
It is by far one of the best casual venues on the Upper East Side and also in Manhattan itself, and is run by the stellar team of owners: Sean Marr, Mike Geddes, Brendan Kirkpatrick and Brian Kirkpatrick. Every casual place thinks they get all the details right, however, the truth is, few do.
Bedford Falls does.
There are four salad choices here, and this trip we opted for the Kale Salad, a winner of nutrition. Kale, hearts of palm, both yellow and red cherry tomatoes and the most amazing parmesean cheese grace this plate with lemon vinaigrette on the side for Ms. Pretty Picky (you know who that is.) Everyone knows that having great nutrition is key to being healthy and this is a plus for that as well as the fact that all components are fresh and delicious.
A new menu item is the Pastrami on Rye, which hits the spot with a generous amount of sliced pastrami. Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard also come to this party.
Even better is another new menu item: Short Rib sandwich.
The short rib itself is to-die-far and is the best short rib, sandwich or not, we've had thus far in 2020. The beef short ribs will absolutely melt in your mouth and they are superlatively delicious teamed up with carmelized onions and swiss cheese.
The pictures do not do the short rib justice and its high quality will wow you.
Under entrees, we chose Fish and Chips for our fish option, and it is exactly what you should be having on a Friday in Lent! Beer battered cod is presented with hand cut fries and malt vinegar giving it an authentic flavor.
The chicken quesadillas are Peachy's favorite menu item at Bedford Falls and we think they keep getting better and better. The ratio of chicken to cheese to pita is terrific and they are grilled to perfection, not over or under done for Goldilocks Peachy, who wants them exactly just right. Of course salsa and sour cream are welcome diving pools that they gloriously capitalized upon.
There was a time when Peachy did not eat chili at all. Then she went to Old Town and has eating it there ever since and that is her favorite by Gerard. However, hot on its heels is our second favorite chili in Manhattan by Bedford Falls! We also like how Bedford Falls innovates its menu in terms of word choice: appetizers is not appetizers but SMALL TALK because they have a better way with words than most! And, by the way the appetizers are the strongest section of the menu which in itself is strong all around. The beef chili with tortilla chips hits the spot on a day when it is gray and the stock market crashed. Crafted with hamburger, the chili is sensational.
Another new menu item is the entree of Chicken Pesto Fettuccine: grilled chicken, fresh pesto cream sauce and fettuccine pasta that combine for a tremendously high quality American pasta selection that is also on the refreshing side with the smashing pesto. The grilled pork chop was our favorite entree this visit, as it perched upon sauteed kale, white beans and red sauce in its flavorful, ideally grilled glory.
Pictures don't lie and you know we never edit them.
You excel, or we don't publish!
Apple Pie a la mode is the perfect conclusion.
Bedford Falls continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
