A decade-long favorite, Ammos has earned our 26,000th Post in the History of Whom You Know! We could not be more thrilled to celebrate with Owner Dimitris Nakos and his team at Ammos, the best Greek restaurant in America.

Dimitris is the embodiment of the American Dream having opened Ammos in 2009. Originally from Athens, Greece, Dimitris enthusiastically and graciously greets you at Ammos Estatorio at 52 Vanderbilt Avenue right next to Grand Central Station and has done so for over the past decade. Right before covid and of course who knew, Ammos did a major renovation with a brand new bar and lounge area and added more private banquet rooms in addition to their fabulous dining room, which opens onto Vanderbilt Avenue in the warm weather. Ammos is back and is better than ever and visiting Dimitris should be priority number one in your book.

Please meet Katsikisia! It means Goat Cheese Salad. The brilliant symphony of flavors is music to your palate with spring mix, dill, walnuts, dried cranberries, dried figs and the best goat cheese Peachy has ever had in her life because it is GARLIC goat cheese. It does a summer waltz in artisan balsamic vinaigrette.

Rizi Thalasinon is a bastion of seafood, vegetable and risotto excellence boasting chopped shrimp, Mediterranean sole, Glossa, calamari, red and yellow bell peppers and wild cremini and shiitake mushrooms. Truffle oil adds another layer of excellence that makes the dish pop in an extraordinary way, a typical signature of your Ammos experience.

Solomos is Wild-Caught Salmon from Norway and it triumphs over fresh zucchini pappardelle which creatively makes a vegetable that may seem ordinary, extraordinary. The red pepper coulis sets off this combination wonderfully.
