THE ART OF THE SCORE April 2022 NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC SPRING GALA DISNEY’S FANTASIA IN CONCERT Selections from Fantasia (1940) and Fantasia 2000 April 20, 2022, at Alice Tully Hall RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK IN CONCERT Complete Film with Score Conducted Live by DAVID NEWMAN April 22–23, 2022, at Alice Tully Hall The New York Philharmonic will present two The Art of the Score programs in April 2022: the Spring Gala, featuring Disney’s Fantasia in Concert, April 20, 2022, with the Orchestra performing highlights from Disney’s Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 in concert live to film; and Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert, April 22–23, 2022, conducted by David Newman. The New York Philharmonic’s Spring Gala, Disney’s Fantasia in Concert, takes place on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., at Alice Tully Hall, and features scenes from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 along with live performances of the music. The conductor for Fantasia in Concert will be announced at a later date. Selections will include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Symphony No. 6, Pastoral, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance, and Dukas’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Gala events will include a pre-concert reception from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Och Foyer; the concert at 7:30 p.m.; and a seated dinner in the Morgan Stanley Lobby immediately following the performance. The dress code is cocktail attire. The Philharmonic presents Raiders of the Lost Ark in Concert, conducted by David Newman, in the New York Premiere of John Williams’s complete score performed live with film. Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first entry in Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’s Indiana Jones franchise, was released just over 30 years ago, in June 1981. The concerts take place Friday, April 22, 2022, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 8:00 p.m., at Alice Tully Hall. Biographies David Newman, New York Philharmonic The Art of the Score April 2022 / 2 Health and Safety Protocols Starting March 1, 2022, all attendees will be required to show proof that they have received a COVID-19 booster shot, based on eligibility determined by the CDC, in addition to proof of vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization or the Food and Drug Administration. In addition, all guests attending Philharmonic performances must maintain appropriate face coverings in accordance with current CDC guidelines. Those not yet eligible for a booster will be able to continue to enter with proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. To be fully vaccinated, an individual must have received either the final dose of a two-dose vaccine series or the single dose of a one-dose vaccine 14 days prior to entry. Tickets may also be purchased at the Alice Tully Hall Box Office. The Box Office opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday.
