All sandwiches are not created equally.
Some are just superior.
We are not at all a fan of mass production or franchises. We are a fan of the little black dress and with our pinkie out we marched down Park Avenue to number 230 especially to the Little Biggs Sandwich Shop located in Urbanspace because they are not into ordinary either.
They are into EXTRAORDINARY.
This is our first Little Biggs experience. Little Biggs opened in January 2022.
There is never a great brand without fantastic, intelligent people behind it.
Little Biggs was created by founder, CEO and owner Kaegan Welch, a graduate of the esteemed French Culinary Institute (you know...our friend Jacques Pepin!) and previously he was the director of Food and Beverages of Le Pain Quotidien where he met Jay Son, I.C.E. graduate, who has joined him as the COO of Little Biggs. Kaegan also created Kitchen Commune because it's clear he has the best ideas around. You'll understand after you eat these sandwiches.
They are dedicated to crafting the perfect artisan sandwich: they start with good bread which is sourced from both Bien Cuit in Brooklyn (everyone knows that is Francais for well-cooked) and Pain D'Avignon in Queens.
First in the batting order is a classic winner winner chicken (not dinner) sandwich: Chipotle Chicken and Avocado! The brilliant creation is evocative of their philosophy less is more and details matter, a goal carried through to each of the four sandwiches we tried this inaugural review.
Details matter!
Quality matters! You know that by now because quite possible you have read the 26,000 or so posts before this adhering to this maxim.

Antibiotic free chicken is used (ABF) throughout their work and there are no added nitrates in anything either. Only the good stuff!!!
From the freshness of the bread which had an authoritative crunch to the quality chicken and superlative ingredients of chipotle mayo, jalapeno cashew crema (completely unique!), pickled onion, romaine, tomato and cilantro, Little Biggs hit a homer on its first pitch to Peachy's stomach.
Next say PIACERE to the Italian! Oh my goodness the perfect proportion ratio was achieved wonderfully with the rosemary ham, mortadella, salami, peppadew relish, romaine, tomato, red onion, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper and olive oil all majestically perched on a sesame seed grinder. People from Connecticut say grinders and we surmise quite a lot of people from Connecticut pass by on their way home through Grand Central. (People from New York say Hero. People from Massachusetts we think say Sub. It's all the same sandwich if you are reading outside the Northeast!)
We really loved all four sandwiches but the Warm Roasted Chicken we loved the most. It totally had Peachy's number with its mozzarella and garlic mayo!!! For the uninitiated, you should know Peachy is a mozzarella monster and also a garlic monster so to put them together is genius. Chimichurri is just the right touch and pepperoncini stepped it up that much more! We would have not thought of putting all of these together but it is beyond clever especially when classic components like onion, romaine and tomato are added notes to this sandwich symphony.
One common problem ages ago when Peachy rang up restaurants is some people that answered the phone thought she was saying she was Peachy Vegan which could not be further from the truth. Peachy is a DEEGAN you know, like the Major, and when we hear Steakhouse we say jump and how high! We love steakhouses and love to find new ways to enjoy them and this is one more. House Roast Beef is mouthwatering and delicious and joined by gruyere, classic caesar dressing, tomato, romaine, red onion, arugula, salt and pepper and red wine vinegar and olive oil, it is only missing a glass of great red wine! Every bite is perfection.
Why have an ordinary sandwich when you can have an extraordinary one?
Little Biggs is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know on our very first experience and we look forward to seeing what they do next.
